This movie was technically a work-for-hire situation where Irwin Yablans, an indie movie distributor, wanted a movie to release about Babysitter Murders. That plot was his idea -- something scary with young actors. John Carpenter got the job, co-writing a script with Debra Hill, and they created Michael Myers and the rest, and set the story at Halloween. Yablans loved that Halloween had never been used as a movie title before. When producer Mustapha Akkad got involved, making sequels, he made sure Michael Myers survived again and again, for box-office potential. John Carpenter wasn't interested in being involved.

The Thrawn I know would never let the rebels leave! For him, destroying their squadron along with the flagship and aircraft carrier is a matter of two salvos. And they would not have been able to escape because of the interdictor-class heavy cruiser that he always carried with him. But here for some reason we don’t see a single interdictor! And also they will NEVER tell us who this Bendu is.

In Legends, Wedge's story is not so clear and simple. He started out as a smuggler together with his uncle. Of course, he didn’t like the Empire, but without fanaticism. Then he found out that his girlfriend’s father is a rebel and she herself helps him in operations. He carried equipment several times for the local rebel cell. Then there was a big raid, the local rebels were killed, and Wedge decided not to get involved with the Rebellion any longer in order to avoid new losses. But after some time, the Imperials became interested in his old deeds and he had to flee his homeland. So he finally became involved in the Rebellion. If he hadn't been forced to scurry, this might never have happened. I'm not even talking about Derek "Hobby" Klivan, who in Legends managed to mutiny an entire imperial cruiser, capture it and deliver it to the rebels

Definitely gonna ruffle some feathers here but God in the Old Testament is ignorant, impatient, barbaric, and prideful while in the New Testament he's the complete opposite BECAUSE humanity showed him a different way for him to be. The Prince Of Egypt in my view has a very naive outlook on God and what he was really like in the Old Testament.

I think that the reason why the OG Trekkers are down on the the JJ Abrams and, more so, the Alex Kurtzman Star Trek, is that they've tried to turn it onto something its not. Abrams and Kurtzman are Star Wars guys and tried to make it a more of a space fantasy, rather science fiction- indeed to a certain extent Star Trek tries to keep itself grounded using plausible pseudoscience and real world scientific concepts, so the audience it attracts is quite particular about the world, its boundaries and the writing within. I remember watching the 2009 Star Trek and enjoying it for what it was, an action adventure flick. But one telling thing I had was this feeling that something was just not right. I felt mentally unfulfilled. I looked my dad who was enjoying it too but outside the building he turned to me, almost if he had read my mind, and said "There's just something missing from that." The writing, and the heart, that you just witnessed absolutely towers over anything Abrams can produce., and Alex Kurtzman just can't get a look-in in any case, it just falls flat. Anyway, glad you watched this. I always love seeing reactions to this movie. 👍👍👍

War is hell. This is the American History they should teach in school. Desmond went on saving other lives on other islands. Well over 100. He was truly a hero. I am 75 and was a Navy Corpsman/Marine Medic during Vietnam. The first thing we were told was to get rid of any medical emblems on our uniforms, and not to respond to anyone using "Medic". We were told to have our units call us by our names. I too married a nurse. We talked for 5 minutes. Then I called my Dad and said to my Father that I had found the girl I was going to marry. Called her and made a date for the next day, and we were together for 53 years until she passed away due to an undiagnosed cancer after 11 days.

The actual church is named St. Paul not Anthony. The neighborhood compared to this movie is now one of the nicest neighborhoods in the city. So much cleaner and the bar is and stores are no longer there.
