What's objective data and subjective? What is your observational structure to collect data? Thank you
@modernsoccercoach3 күн бұрын
Objective data is factual information that is gathered through observation or measurement and is true regardless of the feelings or opinions of the person presenting or receiving the information. Subjective is more opinion based.

This was a good, insightful video, but I really hope the speaker fully understands the games technical side. Too often, these days, coaches try to implement these game model approaches which do not serve their players

Brilliant. But what happens if the bottom pair gives up possession and becomes the defenders? Does the top pair transition to support possession then?
@modernsoccercoach10 күн бұрын
I don't think the top pair transition if possession is immediately - just on a transfer. Just to help flow of exercise.

Enjoyed the interview Gary. In my years of coaching, I find myself shifting methodologies for the team, age group, or sometimes the individual player. I don't know that it is certain whether this is always effective or not. Much like in the book "You haven't taught until they have learned", I find myself searching for the best method for the group, and if a individual isn't learning that way, trying another method for that player. I would be curious to hear of an expansion of that sometime in the future. Thanks again!- KM
@modernsoccercoach10 күн бұрын
Thank you KM. Yes, I think constantly adapting to players and situations is a good way to look at it, along with reflection and education. I thought Martin did an excellent job in communicating that aspect of "searching" that you reference. Appreciate the message and the support.

Great interview. I loved the fact that he doesn't over emphasize the idea of "skill" that you hear from other players development type. If a kid has athletic talent you can coach the skill but you can't coach athleticism.
@modernsoccercoachАй бұрын
Many thanks. We've had quite a few messages about this interview. Glad you enjoyed it.
@georgy-vy5fsАй бұрын
Not sure, if skill is gameplay combined with technique on the ball, impossible for 12+ year old to get to top irrespective of athletic talents. This is not a hand playing sport, using feet is very difficult to master
@gtjohns220Ай бұрын
@@georgy-vy5fsevery single baller playing pro is a freak athlete that honed their skills not the reverse. You can teach and drill skills born athleticism is a natural gift. Messi is the greatest bc he has the feet and spatial awareness of a All Pro Cornerback. Soccer is the only sport where people try to over think talent.
@georgiaa213Ай бұрын
No such thing as natural talent, it can all be trained/taught. I didnt say one does not need athletic prowess, however ball mastery is much much harder to acquire than improving 30m sprint times. The way the obsession has turned to athleticism, we wont be seeing any more Messis cause they wont get picked at young age. Just My observations
@gtjohns220Ай бұрын
@@georgiaa213 you think you can train someone to run like Usain Bolt, jump like Jordan, throw like Jared Allen ,and boom a kick like Holland? Lol.
