I live here in Scotland and this is my passion. Your video has done us proud. Great production well done. It makes me realise how lucky we are here in Scotland. We may have crazy tight gun laws but we can still have great sport.

We actually caught this bear like 3 times in a tree that was like 45 feet across and it was hollow. I ended up Climbing it and looking in the hole. It was a big bear too. probably like 180 pounder.

That sounds cool.

I'm curious, do you need to pack your food into a bear canister for this part of the Idaho backcountry?
@AbandonOutdoorsАй бұрын
It’s always a good idea to, even though there are only occasionally grizzlies in the area. we always hang our food and make sure nothing scented is in the tents. I have had a black bear try to get under my rain fly to get my pack before. Pretty scary stuff at 3 AM, 12 miles into the backcountry.

Thanks for this Vid - great stuff. I come out of northern CA and have never fished the Owyhee. Thinking of heading up first week of August. Do you think that is a good time to be on the river? Thanks again!
@AbandonOutdoorsАй бұрын
August is generally good, has been a tougher year out there with uncommon high water but the water levels are starting to approach a more normal level now.
@patsheridanАй бұрын
@@AbandonOutdoors Thanks for the reply. Hopefully by August flows will have dropped to somewhat normal.

Paradise ducks are protected so don't depict these birds as being free to target without repercussions

That....was an awesome video. Lenny getting one with his grandpa's old .308 is just classic. So cool. I laughed a bunch at the "human centipede" and the 23:14 "one in the bush is better than, yeah, two in, one in the hand is, mmph mmph mumble, ahhh I don't frickin know how you say it." 🤣🤣🤣

Is hollywood an existing nickname for shovelers or did y’all come up with it? I met some out of state duck hunters in North Dakota like 10 years ago who really liked shovelers and called them “hollywood”. Given the small group of duck hunters who actually like these birds it seems like too much of a coincidence 🤣
@medusapythons4512Ай бұрын
Nvm just looked it up and see it is a common nickname! Glad there’s more people that appreciate these birds, I certainly do.
