I wonder if the person or persons who refuse his admission into the academy survived once he was dictator.

If Hitler had passed the exam and entered the academy, I think millions of people would not have died... World history would probably have been very different.

6:46 is the district management office that I used to have to visit from time to time back in the day. Today, the workers would greet me kindly, maybe even throw a small talk and a couple of jokes briefly. It's quite sombering to think that not even a hundred years ago, the treatment toward me, a non-white/caucasian descendant, would have been very very different. I've been in Austria/Germany since 20 something years ago, and I still sometimes think about the historical footsteps of the very steets I walk through. I'm very appreciative of the fact that this place I call home is now a thriving and beautiful world. I hope to be a meaningful part of this wonderful society for many more years to come. Greetings from a thankful American,

At least three of the soviet toldiers in front of the Hofburg (with the "Hitlerbalcony" to their backs, where Hitler declared the Anschluss of Austria into the 3rd Reich) are colleagues from Chaldai and their photo - unit. Chaldai stayed in Vienna after the occupation/liberation for about 2 weeks. Then he was ordered to Berlin.
@richardgolger58085 ай бұрын
The mortar company shown in front of the parliament was accompanied by Jewgeny Chaldai, the photographer who took the famouspics of the soviet flagraising at the Reichstag, the pic of mashal Shukow on a white horse at the victory parade in mocow and the portait shot of Goering, which had to be forced, because of Goerings denial against the Russians.

To my knowledge there was no formal surrender of Vienna. The German army and SS units just withdrew... The Wehrmacht and SS units were simply too depleted of men and machinery to put up substancial resistance. And the Ostmark/Austria meant nothing to the Germans. They pulled any forces together for germany itself. To explain this, from early 1944 there were no fighters permanently stationed on Austrian territory, albeit the bomber offensive from the south was getting momentum. Austria was just defended from Bavaria... Similar to this, the majority of Flak batteries had been withdrawn to Germany and the Ostfront by march, leaving Austria without aircover and heavily reduced air defence.

WHy not just show the original photos in their entirety. My guess alot of these are fake.
@ruiterproductions5 ай бұрын
All photos are shown entirely, only the edges are faded to make the transition. We prefer soft boarders in stead of hard boarders. From our side, none of the photos are fake, unless the original photo already was fake.
@samjones31065 ай бұрын
Would have been better with full pictures and not layovers. Some are probably fake.

Visited the city recently. So many Middle Eastern migrants there now. How did it go from being a city where European nationalists ruled to a now near full Islamic city

Well Austrians don't want to make the shit jobs, so therefore they needed foreigners. At first people from Eastern Europe (Czechoslovak, Yugoslavia, Bal kan came) then Turks and at last Syrians. They are low paid and you only saw them in some outer districts. The rich districts don't have that foreigners. Social democrat part y puts them together in the same places. Afterwards everyone says that the district is full of the and too many foreigners...😂 Still someone has to do the jobs the Austrians don't want to do.
