2:25 Notice the sedan bodyshell has the old 4-window Hornet roofline. The same was true for the few (fleet-only?) Concord sedans built without the padded vinyl top. I've long suspected they hand-cut the extra windows on the line.

There hasn't been a real Jeep since Chrysler killed off AMC's square-bodied Cherokee. Most Jeeps now are just Dodge's with Jeep-looking bodies, the rest are just Fiats with Jeep-looking bodies.

Turns out, I made a mistake of assuming the Infiniti concepts were revealed at the Japan Mobility Show, when in fact, Infiniti had a separate press event the day before the Japan Mobility Show begun. Sorry about that.

If you did the research, AMC bought all the coiled steel from the Ford Rouge Plant in Dearborn Michigan. Ford Steel Division sold metal and steel to all the automotive companies, including the transplant foreign car makers. AMC did not have its own steel mill manufacturing operations. My AMC Javlin has a Ford engine installed at the factory. As this video clearly shows from the assembly plant pit crew view, the only AMC manufactured engine part is the engine exhaust system. But the engine is Ford Blue all the way.

No. Your Javelin DOES NOT have a Ford factory installed engine. AMC built ALL of their motors. Most definitely, they installed other manufacturers PARTS, i.e. Motorcraft carburetors on V8's such as the 390 which was AMC's engine - had NOTHING to do with a Ford 390. All these years later and people STILL can't get it right...

For sure! They got ripped off at the end with the Chrysler deal too. Such a shame. AMC’s fate seems to have come back to haunt Chrysler which themselves are now in the mercy of another company (Fiat/Peugeot).

Henry Ford created the world's largest auto assembly plant called The Rouge Plant. At the Rouge, raw materials are shipped via huge lake freighters to the 3 blast furnances. There, molten steel is created and shaped into the many components to assemble each vehicle there. This AMC plant doesn't manufacture their own steel. In fact, many of the AMC vehicles had Ford engines under their hood. The Kenosha plant may be big under AMC standards, but NOTHING beats the Ford Motor Company Rouge Plant. Not even close.

Too bad AMC didn't survive. Chrysler bought them out, and shut them down. Chrysler only kept Jeep. Chrysler got two bailouts from the U.S. Government. AMC was forced to sell out. AMC should have been bailed out, and Chrysler should have been forced to sell out. After the second bailout, Chrysler merged and is now part of Stellantis. Chrysler is now foreign owned. Now they are talking about Chryslers individual brand being discontinued. The Chrysler brand is also down to only two models, and one is being discontinued. What Stellantis should do is discontinue Chrysler, and bring back AMC.
