Hello, we brought Luna from a breeder in Clacton. We got her as a puppy. I've been watching a channel on here called " The real truffle hunter " and she describes in depth how to train you dog to hunt truffles, we started training her at just 11 weeks old. every day we would play/train her and give her rewards, its been tough training but we are now there !. We just need to find a forest with truffles in ! its a very secretive business, so there is now way to find information as to where they are. As for the mice, rabbits and other pests our cats used to keep them all away, but sadly they are now too old and don't do the job any more, we might have to get a new kitten in the near future. Hello, we have ate pigeon breast in the past. My air rifle is not very accurate though, one shot will go an inch to the right the next an inch to the left ! i put my rifle in a vice and tried to line it up with a laser sight on it, its just too cheap a rifle ! even with the best pellets you can buy ! I need to buy a decent gun for pigeons. I feel its a good idea to be able to catch wild meat just in case its needed. Thanks so much and take good care

Hello Dilly, its lovely to hear from you, Mum and all, WOW 98 ! an amazing age with plenty of wisdom ! My dad is now 86. Its the war time diet i say ! all that great food they used to cook from scratch ! none of that high salt, sugar and fat processed diet that some people eat today ! Tell Mum i say a big hello ! I really do love the older generation. So many great tales to tell. Ive also becomes good friends of an elderly couple who love our chicken eggs here, they are also in there 80s and lived on smallholdings when little, the gentleman used to live in Ireland, he tells me great stories ! they also had there own peat bog for free fuel, so jealous of that ! ha ha. Hello, wow ! yes i do remember ! the money went to other unexpected projects from stopping our cottage from falling down ! ha ha, but we are so close to completing our smallholding, just 3 big projects left, a wind turbine still ! , connecting the water well up to the house and a bio gas generator powered by manure and grass cuttings ( which is half way in progress ). Hello Helen, sadly i feel that this is still the beginning and lots worse is still to come ! I'm not a prophet of doom and gloom though ! ha ha i just like being prepared. This mad carbon net zero agender is not going to be nice in the future for food prices, the farmers are thinking of blocking food soon as you probably already know ! Ive got a homegrown goose for Christmas and feeding up 11 turkeys for the new year plus we are also eating our old chickens that no longer lay many eggs ( they are old boilers ! a good 5 hours boiling to make them tender ! ) we are making sure we buy as little meat as possible now. thanks so much, take good care and hope you are coping with the cost of living.

Hello Bry, its always great to here from you. Yes all the rabbits are now safe on the other side of the fence, around 6 of them in all ! I would only eat a rabbit these days if we were starving ! Some other creature ate the tops off all my carrots this year ( hundreds of carrots as well ! ) but never saw what animal done it ! pigeons or rabbits im guessing ! My cats are getting too old to chase the pests away ! Vicky did tell me the cancer free news again on your latest check up not long ago which is lovely news. Thanks Bry, keep warm and take good care.
