I am retired elementary/middle school teacher who taught middle school English the last 7 years and have been crocheting for 40 years. I have never designedly-technically- or edited crochet patterns before. How would you suggest I go about seeing if this is something that would be a good fit for me before I invest in a course?

Thank you for answering my question about pricing! I appreciate that! I definitely fall into at least 6/7 categories. I have very little experience using formulas in Excel/spreadsheets but it's nothing I can't learn! I'm very excited to have found your website, FB group and YT channel. And I am very excited to start this journey!

What do you do if you get a pattern that is a total mess? If the directions aren't clear and you have to ask her on every line what she intended because she really didn't write something that was as clear as she considered it?

Every pattern should be tech edited. If your goal is to help the designer to get that pattern in great shape, then it's a smart move to convey that the tech edit may take some time. Maybe work in consecutive order, one section at a time, going back and forth until the pattern is complete. It's a great opportunity to build some trust between you and your client, to educate them and help them grow as a pattern writer. Wishing you the best!

Thank you for this video. You just reminded me of something I had to do in one of my art classes which was using your sketchbook to record your day. At the end of this class, we had to turn it in as it was part of our grade. I really used it every day and sort of equated it to writing in a diary which I used to do years ago. With sketchbook journaling I recorded what I discovered while completing my art assignments and didn't really include diary-type stuff--only occasionally. I think it would be brilliant to return to it now as part of a business practice especially for time management. I can use it alongside scheduling pages I've developed which would keep me on track with goals (or assignments). This was an Ah-ha! Momemt for me; so, thank you.

Do crochet amigurumi designers use tech editors or its mainly for wearable patterns?

Anyone who puts out a pattern for other people to make should use a tech editor.
