People who say just dont care and do your job have no idea what they are talking about. Because in my experience when this happens at work it effect doing your job because your coworkers will make plans on how to complete work and always exclude you out of the plans and you can find yourself awkwardly just floating around because with no purpose. They will exclude you out of the team to make you feel you have no purpose being there and basically make you feel invisable.

Anyone else notice it’s not the US Army, but in fact, those are US Marines? Yes those were Apaches which is army, but the grunts were USMC. I remember seeing this in theaters about a month before I deployed to Iraq, and as a US Army veteran this scene hit me pretty hard. All of that firepower, all that hardware, all the years of training and human lives gone in an instant after having absolutely zero effect aside from giving away the position.

This movie does ‘haunting spectacle’ perfectly. The horrific might of mankind’s collective power, hundreds of years of perfecting destruction through war and invention, amounting to nothing against the invaders.

At the same time as these scenes, the exact same war (or should I say slaughter?) was taking place in the aliens' bodies between their immune systems and the terrestrial bacteria.

I felt this scene was cheap. I wanted to see the battle on the other side of the hill. That would've been blockbuster-worthy. Also, no father would allow their son to just run off to their death like that.

I just realized, the Military force here is a mix of both Army and Marines, you can tell by their different camoflage uniforms. Woodland for the Army and MARPAT for the Marines.
