LOVE that sound! Probably a long shot but I'm looking for a 432. Dad's first truck - 73 6500 GMC 432V6 new process transmission air brakes etc - is sitting in the corner waiting for a heart transplant. I want to get it going again for him but wanna keep it original I realize they are rare (1973-74 only), but if you consider parting with yours I'd sure be interested

Hey Paul, I'm going to hang onto the engine for the time being (it's a spare for my GMC 5000) but if I find another (351, 401, 478) I'll consider selling the 432. Where abouts are you located? I'm over in New England...

Hi, great video. I have a 67 GMC C1500 and I’m looking to do the same conversion so this video was very helpful. I’m curious about which distributor you used? And if you have a part number?
@5Tractorguy
@5Tractorguy 27 күн бұрын
Hey Ben, The distributor is from a '78 - '79 Buick Skylark with 231c.i. V6. I bought this one off RockAuto when I did the conversion, search part# SKDIGM33 on rockauto and it will show up. You'll also have to have a bushing made as the Buick dist. has a smaller OD than the GM dist. And the drive gear on the end has to be changed too. If you haven't stumbled upon this site it will explain the conversion better and what has to be done. www.6066gmcguy.com/hei.html A man named Rod Johnson makes the bushings, his contact info in on the site.

I am relieved to see you back. Ya had me worried there for a while. I did the drift thing thrice !! First Florida [yuk] Back to Massachusetts, Worcester. Then hit the road with a popular country/bluegrass artist [Sonny Martin] Played steel guitar for him. Then back to Worcester for a short stint then I went back to Tennessee where Sonny Martin lives. He retired, but too late I fell in love with Tennessee and never looked back. Couldn't stand Massachusetts politics and weather.

Sometimes a little bit of driftin' can set ya right! Must've been fun touring around playing music for a bit... being around all those great pickers and everything. I hear it's good living down in TN and pretty low cost too. Not to mention all the REAL bluegrass music you guys have down there vs. the mix of folk and "bluegrass" we have up here as you may know. And don't even get me started on the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts haha! Anyways, glad to see you around the channel Cowboy, I'll slip some more pickin' clips into the videos as time goes.

I was born in Nevada and have road tripped my 65 Mustang all over the west, but I've always romanticized Pennsylvania and the New England area. My dream car has always been a 57 Chevy sedan and I'm building it now, hoping to drive it out there after the snow melts next year. Probably the same situation as you just on opposite ends of the country lol. I'm glad you were able to make that trip, it certainly changes your thoughts on life when you take off and experience that level of true freedom and a different part of the world. I always thought I should know what I'm doing with my life and be settled somewhere by now at 27 but come to find out our lives are always evolving and we really should be doing things on the regular like this in order to always be making the best of things and to grow like we should. Thanks for the update, been watching your stuff since almost the beginning and always thought it was badass how you're able to pursue your passion like you do.

Sorry for the delay in reply Konr, keep forgetting to follow up... Anyways, I was pretty glad to see you name when you commented! I remember you from back when I started the channel, do appreciate you sticking around over the years... Beautiful country over in Nevada, that's another part of the west I still would like to see along with UT, MT, CO, etc. Sounds like we're walking similar roads. Very well said with the evolution of our life path and growth. Really does open your eyes in such a way where you see and feel so much more of life, kinda takes the blinders off your soul haha. When you make it over to this side of the country with the '57, drop me a line if you like and you're welcome to stop by. That's going to be an awesome road trip!

Jake! So glad you’re back! I’m Steve, that grew up in Bedford MA. Then joined the military in “79” and moved back to MA in 2015. Spoke to you on a couple separate occasions and even ran into you at Raising Canes in Marlborough. My Dad & I have a “51” Ford 8N that I’d like to talk to you about…also, I had told you that when I moved back to MA, I found that it didn’t resemble the quaint New England atmosphere I had remembered and longed for from the 60’s & 70’s. So…I moved to New Hampshire lol. Matter of fact I/we bought a brand new cabin on about 10 acres in Francestown NH. Which, btw, is right below Hillsborough. Absolutely LOVE it! Anyway, our Real Estate Agent that represented us in our purchase is the Chief of Police in Bennington NH (also right below Hillsborough) a great guy and we liked him so much we even referred him to my cousin. So…if you would like, I would be happy to introduce you to him at your convenience. You will be SO HAPPY making the move to NH! It’s everything I remember about New England growing up! Look forward to speaking with you. Again, and I’m sure I speak for everyone…Welcome Back! We are so happy for your return 🙏 Steve J.

Man we missed you Jake! But im glad you took this trip you needed it! Il be 28 end of this month and ive been watching your videos from the beginning. I had a similar time in my life where I just got burnt out on life. I took a summer off work and just traveled around and spent time with my dog. Yeah I missed out on making a lot of money but I would have never had the time if I was working to find my farm and buy it. These things happen in our life for a reason. I have no regrets on my lifes decisions and I know you dont either. Cheers brother! Hope to see some new content soon!

People asked me about the money when I closed up and headed west, the ranch pay was pretty low, but it wasn't about the money... just the experience of life and sorting things out. Not asking for time off, just saying "I'm going to be gone, if you want me to resign, so be it"

@@TrainsByPerry Go to this link www.wheelhorseforum.com/files/file/1959-tractor-1974-c-120-auto-om-wiring-revisedpdf/ and click the 4th file over... it'll be the wiring diagram for a WheelHorse B & C series with Kohler engine. Make sure it says "Kohler Engine" at the top of the diagram as the other diagram there is for a Tecumseh powered tractor. Aside from the safety switches (which you can either keep and alter to the Ariens safeties or eliminate...) it'll be the same for your Ariens as long as you have a single cylinder K series Kohler powered tractor.

Glad you'reback home, Buddy! IF I had a loafering jag inside me the Army wore that out. I went to work RIGHT after school on a road job pulling a sheepsfoot with a IH 2806 yellow. Then Sammy hollered and I went straight to KANSAS (FT. Riley) straight off and then halfway around the world to the tropics and maliaria and back to Virginia and here. I never wanted to leave here but ended up back here in 02 to make child support payments after a 23 year marriage blew up. Burned diesel for Sammy and here as THIS is what I always wanted to do and did for 50 years. I remarried in 04 and have been REALLY happy hitched until my health quit and I'm here at home, stringing beans and mowing grass with a battery zero turn. NOW Maybe I can keep track of YOU and see you're still doing yourJohn Duffey immatations! I live maybe 1/2 mile from where I was raised so we both CAN go home again, no matter what the old saying says. I've ALWAYS got your back, pal. 24/7/365. I'm 74 now and that's as good as I can do! Kinda neat reading though all these comments and stories on here... Hopefully ol' Duffey would be proud! We were getting kinda spent by the end of the season during that gig, but man we did have a lot of fun pickin' and singing. I always like the album that Seldom Scene put out in 2000 "Scene it All" (Dusty is on that one). I think all the songs are covers, but it's some good material. Haven't been playing as much since I got back home. Had a gig in VT the fist week back and meet up with a friend to jam every few weeks... Anyways, appreciate it as always Lewie!!
