@ElectronSurfer12 күн бұрын
There is some movement in battery recycling, hungryforbatteries.org. I don't see batteries ever becoming standard but behind the battery cradle is a very standard wire connection. You could make any compatible voltage battery work with it, it is the benefit of dumb ebikes like these vs. smart ones like Bosch where the battery has to communicate with the rest of the system.

@ElectronSurfer22 күн бұрын
Thank you for the nice comment. I would say steep hills on this scooter really depend on how large of a rider you are and how many hills you have. A few steep hills are ok with some kicking to help, if you had a lot of hills on a ride I think it would be too much for the scooter. Thanks

Have you tried OSF on this? For me it made a world of difference. Would be nice to see such an in dept review of both stock and OSF. Nicely done.
@MarvinWestmaas2 ай бұрын
Btw when choosing battery I went for the G70 on purpose, not only does it have the full metal mounting rail along it's length but that also gives better mounting options. I do ride mtb trails though so for me secure mounting is a bit more important I guess.
@ElectronSurfer2 ай бұрын
I haven't tried OSF, you have to buy a programming cable and display, or just the cable. I have thought about a comparison with new firmware, I do have some data on the 500 watt vs 750 watt version.
@MarvinWestmaas2 ай бұрын
@@ElectronSurfer I would like that for sure, I got the 500w but currently running 750w with OSF should be the same as a 'stock' 750w with OSF set to 750w since only firmware differs. I found I do need that cooling mod I installed, it does get quite warm still when pushing hard for long time. I think the external heatsink which I didn't install would fix that but I thought it would look quite suspicious so I didn't. For the cable, I bought that VT-Link v2 programmer and used the wiki guide to adapt the cables it came with. If you're going to install OSF, I would recommend ordering two programmers, they are quite cheap and you'll get two set's of cables. You only need the 3 wires specified in the wiki, but I would still 100% recommend sleeving the metal connectors with some heatshrink. And disconnect battery before programming, it's only recommended in the wiki but I'm one of those who's programmer died after the first couple of reads. Disconnected the battery, used the spare one I ordered and haven't had any issues since. You could spend 30-40 euro on a cable off course, but unless you plan on using it a lot I wouldn't bother.

I'd definitely look at buying a 2nd battery so you can spend more time on the road or bikeways. When my new Vsett 10 Apex arrives , it will be the first thing i do. No pricing yet but i guess it will be around 1200 bucks for a 25.6ah battery. I have 2 charging ports on my current 10+ but im not sure whether i can increase the amps on each one from 2 to 5 using a different charger. Question...if you cut the total charging time from 5 hours to 2, will it kill the battery sooner? Apparently the existing battery is good for 2200 cycles or charges at 4 (2+2) amps, which for me is around 3 years & 6 months... charged twice a day.
@ElectronSurfer2 ай бұрын
My only suggestion would be to actually ride for awhile before you buy a second battery, for most people it is really overkill when carrying your charger and topping off while eating lunch will cover most rides. Packing that extra battery is going to be pretty heavy. Cheers

this was barely a e-bike in as little as three years the prices of ebike have significantly dropped. $1000 gets you a lot of bike in 2024 and 2025.

I actually don't agree with that at all, sure you can get a lot of bikes around $1,000 but I don't think they are any better than this one. I like Lectric bikes. They are a good value. I do not like their free add-ons. Currently the Lectric Xpedition has 5 free accessories. I have no need for them. Nothing is free. Everything is incorporated in the price. How about taking $300 off the bike and not forcing us into accessories we do not need. Lets us buy the accessories we need instead. I have 3 Lectric bikes and they were all preorders. None of them shipped in the shipping week stated. Also, I have had at least 2 times per bike where something failed in the first 2 months. Like a motor here, or a controller there. While Lectric will replace vi warranty, it can take weeks to months to get parts. Overall I do like Lectric, but they are far from perfect. Aventon and Tern are more expensive, but overall experience is better. I want to try an Urban Arrow too as I heard they make quality cargo bikes and have stellar service.

I would expect the speedway to be faster because of the voltage, I don't have direct experience with the Mini 4 pro though. I would look at weight first, voltage second, controller output 3rd....speed tends to be a balance of these.
