Not going to lie man. First time I heard that song with the reveal trailer I felt possessed. I had to get up and do something I couldn't sit still. I just started watching it over and over again. Sweating jittery I was just it brought me back so many years and even with the fact that I had a broken arm at the time that doesn't change the fact that that was the most active I had been since the accident. Haven't even got to the reaction yet, still half way through the yap session (lol), but just wanted to say. I almost never watch the intro to any reaction videos anymore because so many are generic at this point, but watched this one. Respect for the honesty and openness in your intro about your apprehension going into the song, it's the same thing a lot of us felt initially. Almost nervous or afraid that hearing this new version would somehow "ruin" the whole legacy of LP for us. It was a very emotional first listen for a lot of people. Now I can watch the rest of the reaction, much respect whether you like the song or not

I took my time to listen to this song/reveal, started last night and have been watching other people’s reactions as well. There was a comment in another video that I am stealing, but it summed it up perfectly: How lucky are we to live in a time where we get to fall in love with one of our favorite bands, twice? Heavy is the Crown solidified it for me.

It is so strange seeing what Labels go after. Many reactors have the full song up, with the video, with no changes and they are fine, but then others, like yourself, have to change part of the song and blur it out to get your video up.

Hey there, new to the channel. I found Linkin park when they were first starting. One step closer came on and I was hooked. Once Emily was announced... I was kinda like, alright lets see what she can do... Once i saw her having fun during the live stream concert, i was hooked... It was like i get to listen to it all over again. I am not trying to start a negative conversation here.. But of course there is people that wont be happy with the direction of this band.. and that is fine. Chester made Linkin Park.... Emily doesn't want to replace Chester and she never will.. She wants to do it for him.. Its Linkin Park and im good with it.. I don't care about what people think of them.. For me.. They are back and that's whats important to me.

Basically in the first half she is a ghost, if you watch it again thats why no one is helping her or paying any attention to her when she is crying for help. Also they shot this video in south Korea after they played their show. Both emily and Mr. Hahn himself stayed behind for a few days to shoot this and Mr Hahn directed and produced this whole thing

Kudos for mentioning the live performance of Lost with Emily singing, I agree it was beautiful. I think Emily fits in perfectly with the band. When I heard her launch into the final chorus of Emptiness Machine I was completely sold, she sounds like she has Linkin Park in her blood. She isn't Chester, and nobody but Chester could ever be Chester, but she isn't trying to be Chester, she's being the lead singer for a new chapter of Linkin Park, and I think she's nailing it. Given a choice between never again hearing any new creations from this wonderfully talented band and hearing new creations with a new lead singer (and a very good one too), I'd choose the new creations with a new lead singer every time.

Understanding there is a conflict within yourself is a good thing. Emily dose have a similar energy in her performance to Chester while being different at the same time. Chester was a important member of the he was a great front man. Who will be missed. I this it fair to compare them if just to note the contex of some of the songs may change with between the two. The both bring power to the songs but some songs like, My December Emily brings a solfness to the song chester didn't have the I connected with. Not saying its better but I connected with it a little more then when Chester sang it. Same with Waiting for the end. Hearing Emily sing Numb takes on a different context in my head than hearing Chedter sing it especially after his death. Plus know the flak Emily has gotten.

I do feel that similar energy that you reference since listening to more of her songs with the band. I totally get what you mean about how some songs have a different connection with her as the lead vs the original versions. I love Lost, but she did a much softer version of the song, which is completely different, but it also sounds very good.

I felt a lot of the same emotions. After hearing a bunch of music with Emily, I think she was a smart choice to allow the band members that wanted to continue making music. I'm still on the fence about keeping the band name.

I agree. I think she was the correct choice in this next chapter. I had many thoughts about keeping the name Linkin Park. I often thought to myself that From Xero could have been an option for a new name. From Zero being the name of the new album and Xero being the original name for the band Linkin Park.

If you think that lost, friendly fire and healing foot are the only unreleased LP music we got since chester passed, you must have forgotten about she couldn't, pictureboard, blue, so far away, could have been, fighting myself, massive, more the victim, A6, no roads left and across the line! There is tons of demos and unfinished tracks and probably stuff I don't even know about that has been released with all the anniversary editions etc...

Linkin park with the 3 current new tracks appear to be a band who are very familair with thier surroundings . Emptiness machine could have several views, one of which is recogonising how depsite what the band do, theres going to be those critics waiting to get their claws in. Heavy is the crown a response to people critising that they " dont sound like linkin park" anymore as the track reeks of Faint and also shows that emily can scream. Over each other reminds me of heavy from one more light but also shows that emily can lead a song (mike is in the background vocals a lot as well). It slso follows a similar pattern before where the 3rd single release is very main vocalist lead

One thing that I've learned is that people do NOT like change at all lol This situation with Linkin Park is obviously an extreme situation, though. I'm locked in with them. They made the choice that feels correct to them, and no matter how I feel, they'll keep moving forward. So, I'm here for the next chapter

I think, it would be hard for me, if my favorite band would have to find a new vocalist. Depeche Mode without Dave Gahan ....I think, i would be scared to hear a new song without him. Emily doesd a good job. It is diefferent and maybe that ist the best thing to happen. It is still Linkin park but also new.

I can understand what you feel. So far, what I've seen is that almost all the people who have difficulty accepting this new era of Linkin Park are those who are more fans of Chester, not the band. and looking at the tattoo on your hand I'm sure you are one of them. I'm so glad Mike chose a female vocalist instead of looking for a Chester clone, it sounds like something to me The King of Linkin Park is Chester, and Emiliy is the Queen of Linkin Park. two different things but look great.. I hope you can enjoy this new era more.

I definitely was a fan of Chester apart from the band, but that's not to say that I was not also a fan of Mike, Joe, Dan, Rob, and Brad as well. Chester being the lead for them allowed me to build a deeper connection, I think. So, him being gone was hard enough, but hearing more Linkin Park without him was really hard at first. Emotions have died down a little since September 5th and I've had time to think more logically about the whole situation. I'm embracing the decision to have Emily as the new lead, and I think I'm glad Mike stuck to his guns and didn't go for a "Chester clone." I've heard him say multiple times throughout the years that it would be pointless to try and do that. As there is only one Chester Bennington. There might be people that sound like him, but they'll never be as good as him. Thank you for sharing, friend

As soon as I heard Emily hit that chorus...I knew LP was BACK !! and I couldn't have been more happy for the band. It was so nice seeing Mike smile during that concert, and all the lives that have been posted since. Chester will always be part of LP, no one can ever change that. But Emily is now the new LP, and no one can change that either. It's just LP 2.0...has happened before with other bands. AC/DC, Van Halen, etc. etc. For the first time in along time I'm actually stoked for this LP album release...

It took me awhile, and really it wasn't until Heavy is the Crown came out that I thought, "This is Linkin Park" or "Linkin Park is back" and had those same thoughts that you had with The Emptiness Machine. You're completely correct, though. Chester will always be a part of Linkin Park and Emily is the new era, and that won't be changed.
