I used bedsure blankets for my cape. Bought them on Amazon. Tons of colors and velvety soft. And I can take the cape to the laundry, throw it in the giant machines, and it comes out clean and beautiful.

Thank you and good luck. I have made it a couple more times, the latest one was out of a heavy chamois type cotton plaid, for winter. I did make it a little longer to just above my knee. I do really like this pattern.💕

@@lilolmecj I thought so! It looked great and inspired me to line mine. Thanks for the great video.
@lilolmecj2 жыл бұрын
Well this one was for my daughter, and she likes it a lot. Later I made this for myself, I guess I am neutral on it. I made it in off white velour, so without the pocket detail and the hood it would be very plain. As I said in the video, there are two styles of hood, I like this one, the other one is weird looking. They are completely different bodice patterns so I didn’t see an easy way to switch them around. I think on the weird hood to cut it kind of like a cowl neck, or kind of a stand up collar, cutting the hood part off might be cute. When I bought the pattern I thought it had a cowl like option, the photos and sketches aren’t super clear. Altogether the view I made came together pretty easily. 😸

I made these pants myself and I quite like them. I am making another pair for work. My pattern has pleats on the back pieces but yours do not seem have them in your finished garment, maybe that is why they are too big? I didn't like the look of pleats in the back so I still used them but turned them into darts so that they didn't stick out like the pleats do, but gave a nice shaping instead, Your waistband does look high but mine is fine, BUT I do have a long body, I have to lengthen all my dress patterns at the bodice, so these were fine for me, but maybe if you don't have a long body like me, maybe they are too high for you. I also have to lengthen the legs on everything, and these pants were no exception.

Yes, I am not very tall, 5’4”. I need to go back to that and look, and I have gained enough weight they won’t fit now. 8 ( I have been trying to sort out my sew room and mostly made a mess, I am not sure where they are! I did make some belt carrier strips, and I am going to fine tune it. I do like how the pattern goes together. I imagine I said that I made the wide leg ones for my daughter who is only 5’3”, and they looked nice except the fabric was a bit of a disappointment. You know how some polyesters don’t press out nicely? That is them. Thanks for your kind comment.

Can i do this pattern without pockets? I'm looking for a beginner pattern for a simple, casual dress with v-neck and 3/4 sleeves. My goal is to make it in all colors because I have not been able to find the perfect dress for myself. I'm hoping this is simple!

What interesting insights into the way the different weight knits looked with the same pattern. I don’t think I would have been brave enough to try the shell stitch hem on any knit, but it worked so nicely on the next to last top. I really like the idea of using the selvage for your sleeve and bottom edge in place of hemming. Even if the green doesn’t drape as well, the color is beautiful on you. You will look great in your garden! Take care and stay safe!
@lilolmecj4 жыл бұрын
Patricia Heflin you know, my instruction book for my sewing machine suggested it for tricot, and I had a small piece, and tried it. It looked really nice so I started finding places to use it. You have to tighten the needle tension to 7-8. The softer the knit, the better it looks. Thanks, I love that color of green!
@sewing-Susan4 жыл бұрын
I like the shell stitch hem! AND those slacks look nice under those tops. I thought the pleats would stick out, but yo can't see them. I don't think I have seen anyone use those thin knits (and I have a couple), so thanks for that.

I have a similar shape and I don’t think I would wear those pants. I don’t know how, but if possible, would like to know how to, is it possible to put a power net under the pleats?
@lilolmecj4 жыл бұрын
Susan Lindman I agree that they could be more flattering. I should look at pants that incorporate power net, that would be interesting to know how to do. They are quite comfortable and I just subscribe to the idea thatI can’t look fabulous in everything I wear. Plus I love the color.

Good job at attempting pants/slacks. I have almost given up trying. With all the pants I have made, constant new problems arise, especially when a different fabric is used. Mostly a blue jean gal for casual wear and a dress for all other occasions. I attempt a few shorts patterns. Not as much fabric waste and they are still mostly for gardening and around home.
