I would pre paint all trim, crown molding, baseboards, and doors while my husband texture and paints the ceiling and walls. By the time we’re both done, he’s ready to install what I’ve painted. I’d just go around filling nail holes and caulking. It’s more ergonomic to me to prepaint because of my back problems and carpal tunnel also. But everyone is different. As long as the end result is nice. Good video!

I have a question if anyone can help. I have couple of investment properties and people are always plastering the walls but don’t bother sanding before painting, so the the patched jobs look like such an eyesore. I was thinking of getting the dewalt cordless belt sander or this tool. Which one would work better & faster?
@crystalparker911724 күн бұрын
Definitely drywall sander is more efficient, and easier to use.
@BrentDarlington18 күн бұрын
Don't use a belt sander on your walls. Use something made for drywall. This tools works great but a pole sander may be all you need.
@tmb9126Ай бұрын
Thank you so much for this! Is there usually no glue or calking?
@BrentDarlington18 күн бұрын
Usually just screws unless it's a really old house.
@KeyumizАй бұрын
Are you nailing into stud or just drywall? I don't see any stud finder or marking so im assuming drywall
@BrentDarlingtonАй бұрын
I knock on the wall as I go along to find the studs. The bottom nail should catch the bottom plate. I'm not overly worried about missing a stud with this thin MDF since the caulking will hold more than the nails will.

Instead of using your floor leveler where you have to mix it with water can I use the premix one DAP flexible floor patch & leveler for plywood & concrete ?

I've never used it before so I cannot say for sure. I'm sure it's fine but may take a lot longer to dry in deeper areas.

Hi great video , can I just ask how long did you leave it from grouting to wiping with sponge , I heard you say "leave for a little while " but how long ? Thanks 😊

I usually wait until the next day. If I finish in the afternoon, it's fine in the morning.

I recently insulated and drywalled my garage and rented the corded Milwaukee version of this and I was amazed. Took less than 2 hours to sand the 480 square feet with 12 foot ceiling included and I didn’t have a speck of dust on me, the floor or even in my nose. Had my Home Depot dust separator between the sander and my small rigid vacuum and the bucket was 3/4 full of drywall dust. Quick touch up of the corners and that’s it! I’ll never sand drywall again without one of these again!

My own method, never seen elsewhere: get a long hat pin and narrow nosed pliers. Estimate by tapping or other method. Grip the pin shaft a 1/2" from the point with the pliers, push it into the wall at 1/2" intervals along the estimated location. It's easy to push in and the hole is tiny compared to any nail.

Sounds like a good idea, thanks

@BrentDarlington2 ай бұрын
I hear ya. I usually do but with the 1/3 offset I did, it will look weird either way. Plus you don't really see around the hood since it's a micro hood. Half bond or stacked for sure I centre on the range. Thank you for your constructive criticism. It's people like you that make the internet a wonderful place. Have a great day!

Looks great! If you want those tiles painted, is it best to paint them before applying to the wall to avoid losing the grout color? Or those type of subway tiles shouldnt be painted at all?
