The GT mountain bike i had, it was awesome. I love those triple triangle frames, 👍. A Trek aluminum frame and a vintage Nishiki steel frame bike is all I got now. But, I'm working on rebuilding a 3 speed Montgomery ward/ sears bike 😢

As a 36er unicyclist, we thank you for using 36" tires on mountain bikes. It gives us more options for tires and rims since manufacturers have a larger market to sell to. I'm in love with my Vee T-Monster tire 😍

I just found someone selling one of these for "best offer." Can anyone tell me what a good offer price would be in 2022? I don't want to overpay or not offer enough and get no response. It's in very good shape and original. Thanks!

I bought one for $1100 (Canadian). 95% original. I didn’t bother negotiating or offering lower. Love the story, was in good shape, had to have it. Good luck!

Well, why stop at 36 inches. Why not go clear up to a meter? Yes, it creates even more compromises in one's componentry, but brings even more benefits. The drawbacks? Increased weight, wheel inertia, potentially reduced rim and wheel strength, gearing problems, frame geometry issues, etc. But the cycling world left imperial dimension standards behind long ago. Perhaps our electified brethren will adopt them. Time will tell.

I didn’t realize how important this issue was until you awakened me from my dull acceptance of 29 and lesser diameters with you screaming Revolutionary!! at me. It was then that I realized how sedated I had become into accepting my bicycle as the functionally beautiful machine that marketing gurus want me to now deny.

32" is a bit more doable and the first beach cruisers with that size have already turned up. I do believe the biggest that will work is best though, certainly for long rides with less struggling about tight bends.

Could you tell me the name of the model and brand of the orange bicycle frame that appears at minute 1:00? It has a Lefty fork. It seems incredible to me. I am 191 cm tall and currently ride 29 ”size XL bikes. I would love to have a bike more adapted to my height. Thanks for the video. Podrías decirme cómo se llama el modelo y la marca del cuadro de la bicicleta de color naranja que aparece en el minuto 1:00? Tiene una horquilla Lefty. Me parece increíble. Mido 191 cm y actualmente uso bicicletas de 29” y talla XL. Me encantaría pasarme a tener una bici más adaptada a mi altura. Gracias por el vídeo.

What is the science behind bigger wheels in bicycles anyhow in cars it can slow you down if you go above a certain threshold, im 27.5" currently but ive got an old 26" suspension mtb ive managed to beat cars in races around town on the 26" wheels mtb cause the cars need to use traffic lights lol and i can go routes that cars cant thats how i managed to beat motor vehicles on a bike, only local races long distance the car will take the lead i just mean short distance journeys on a bicycle can be faster than a motorcar !!

Man, can't we get there incrementally? Like, a 30.5" then 32". Maybe a mullet 30.5" in front with 29er rear.
@marshallferron

36 inch rims and tires already exist for unicycles. It's generally a lot easier to repurpose an existing wheel size than to introduce a new one which is why we have 29ers (700c) and 27.5 (650b). Although Walmart did sell a 32" cruiser for a while but I'm not sure if you can still get replacement parts for it
@mofosoto
@mofosoto 3 жыл бұрын
@@marshallferron agreed. I don't know every wheel size out there but I know there's all kinds of sizes of unicycles and odd sized bikes. Just seemed like an odd jump when riders are noticing differences in 1.5 inch wheel increase. "Should we go up another size? Nah, let's go up 6!" I mean why not go with the biggest wheels found on a penny farthing bike then if that's what you're doing?

As the wise elder say, if the weight is a concern, then start with the wheels. Yet this goes completely against it. Think about the forward + angular momentum lost whenever you want to brake...

Well, if this becomes more common, all 29ers will probably become less and less available, as they will be replaced by 36ers. They're already doing it with 27.5 for the 29er.
