I like the Pacemaker Scheme a lot. Think I should grab a PacemakerTank Car from Menards? They have coal hoppers and box cars also I believe!👍👍

They aren’t bad. I like them for the price. I purchased most of them just as the car then purchased the containers separately from Menards as well. Heck, purchase a car( yellow, brown & blue colors) and a package of two containers and try them out. The Lionel and Atlas well cars I believe are more detailed and sturdy, but a lot more money!

What thickness of foam board did you use? And did you put plywood down as a base for the foam to attach to?

Plywood base and I think it was 1/2 or 3/4 inch pink foam board. I then just covered it with the green outdoor carpet that looks like grass. Very short grass.

@@RABSTRAINS Thank you for replying. I’m thinking of doing a 4x8 layout for my O scale trains and trying to decide witch would be the best base to use. I want to keep it simple and enjoyable with operating accessories for my grandchildren to operate. I have decent size HO scale layout that has been a long term project. So scenery work doesn’t interest me much for this table layout.

@@scottbohn929 totally understand. Mine is very simple. The 4x8 extension that forms the L on my layout has no foam board, just carpet on top of the plywood. The long main section has the foam.

These 6 wheel trucks only have 4 wheels driving the other two are only for decoration. But nice it has real steel wheels and no rubber bands.😊😊

WOW, she is a rocket driver! The stores usually don’t have a major wide selection. Ordering on their site will get you the largest verity for sure. Some items are only available through their site ordering process.

I just checked my nearest to me location 3:40 away Williston North Dakota and they stocked up with those sets and all the track again that I need like o72 and 30” straights so next trip I’ll be going again I usually go every month or so when I go to my USA mailboxnin plentywood Montana

Thanks! Will do! I don’t get out a ton. Hopefully a few more this afternoon!! I am a few miles south of the NS yard in Sharonville Ohio. That yard is used for containers a lot for Norfolk Southern. Long ago I believe it was a Conrail Yard. The two yards in Cincinnati are the NS Gest Street Yard and the CSX Queens Gate.

It is!. The box was in good condition for its age. I opened the train and it really had not been run much if any. It looks brand new inside and outside. Little to no wear on the wheels. It almost looks like it was purchased then put on a shelf. The engine is awesome and what a first time experience for me with a Williams FM Trainmaster. 👍👍🙏🔥

I have bought many of them. I have modified everyone of mine. The boards failed and would not move at all. I removed the board and added a bridge rectifier. I then wired the locomotives to only go forward. I also wired the motors in series.

Hey, wanted to let you know that the motors are wired in parallel. If you wire them in series, they take more throttle to get up to speed but your sounds are better and lights are brighter.

My wires are blue and red, unit has no sounds I assume because no speaker. Has a board with electronic reverse but reverse won’t work. Transformer will run it forward only.

Reverse lamp works, I checked both bulbs, but won’t come on because unit only will run forward. I don’t run my engines in reverse anyway.
