I do this with a skateboard and a border collie, he is 1.6 old, you think it's healthy? I'm just 75kg and 6'3 he is 16kg
@MaximeBAUX Жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t recommend doing this on hard/concrete ground for dogs. It’s not ideal for their articulations, legs and back. Try to find a bit of dirt bike road and use a bmx or mountain bike ;) Fun would be even better 💪

Wow. What sort of training did it take for Luna to get that kind of stamina? And, do you ever have trouble with her getting distracted and darting into the woods?
@MaximeBAUX Жыл бұрын
They learn and get better at staying focus on the track and leave the kangaroos alone ;) 3/4 trainings weekly definitely help having a stronger dog with good stamina

@MaximeBAUX Жыл бұрын
Hi Patricia, Depends in which class you compete and how many dogs you have in your team. Usually here in Australia for spring races and strong dogs (1-2 dogs team) it’s around the 3/4km mark or bit more for bikejoring

Bikejoring antenna you mean ?
@van6355 Жыл бұрын
hi Max, this is so fun to play (work) with dog. Do you speciafically train your dog? or any resources or channel that inspired you to do bikejoring? also what model of camera you are using?
@MaximeBAUX Жыл бұрын
Hi, I havent done bikejoring training in a while, but just go out with your dog in a wide open area/forest and let him run in front of you. No channel or anyone, we learn and listen from people in the sledding community and did our thing : ) I was using a GoPro camera, its what is best on the market I'd say.

Wow. Luna's got speed bur also some nice stamina about her! How far is that track? Seemed to keep going and going. Is she actually sprinting full speed or close the whole way though? Or more a gallop? Pacing it? Can't wait to get my dog trained up in this and see how he goes! He's a big dog but a freak who loves running and can do 60km/h + easy chasing the buggies and bikes around on my land haha
@MaximeBAUX2 жыл бұрын
The track was just under 3,5km, she was pretty much at full speed at the start and beginning of the video. Running and “galloping” afterwards. Best of luck and enjoy these special moments with your best friend, it is so much joy seeing them having so much fun. Thanks for watching

If you want to improve on future videos, it would be helpful to have data widgets overlaid on the video using Garmin VIRB Edit or something else similar. So this is what people did before e-bikes were invented! I tried this with a smaller dog (and only had a neck lead) so I had to pedal assist up hills. A full body harness lead is much nicer to the dogs. Use a greyhound then you'll be flying!
