🐕 2018 Eukanuba Canberra Classic Race, Luna's 2nd heat ! 🐕

Bikejoring race at Kowen forest in Canberra, for the Canberra Sled Dog Club race, the Classic.
After a good run on Saturday morning but slower than usual due to the 8C° temperature and the distance, 5,4km in 13min04sec and an average speed of 24,8 km/h, we were 2nd by quite a big difference of 38 sec with a GSP dog, again.
We finished 2nd after this 2nd heat, the GSP dog was way too quick, Luna did a very, very good 2nd run though, running behind our opponent after he overtook us and never gave up !
She wasn't happy to be overtaken, so she told the GSP to bugger off when we caught up to him. Just made me realise that she is a determined dog and hates losing... ;)
This second heat was almost a minute better, 12min17sec, average speed of 26,35 km/h.
Total time of 25min21sec in two days with a total average speed of 25,57km/h for more than 10km distance.
Very proud of her for this 2nd season, won 2 NSW races and first time ever at the snow with skijoring (placed 3rd). She enjoys training so much, running in the forest and racing is an extra plus for me where she never let me down !

I do bikejoring here in México, i think everyrhing above 25 km/h, it's pretty good, huskys are good runners for long distances, gsp dogs are good for distances below 10 km, I run with huskys and every time someone passes ya, they try to keep up, they are very competitive, excellent work, why arent You uploding videos any more? Thanks for the kind words. Luna had a small surgery this season so missed a lot of races and I didn't want to take any risks. We will be back next year with Onyx, her new brother that already won a race at 11months of age ;) 💪🏻

Ahah maybe one day. She gets one cup in the morning and one in the evening or Eukanuba biscuits, bit of fish oil, sardines and few bones during the racing season as well 💪🏻

hi Max, this is so fun to play (work) with dog. Do you speciafically train your dog? or any resources or channel that inspired you to do bikejoring? also what model of camera you are using?

Hi, I havent done bikejoring training in a while, but just go out with your dog in a wide open area/forest and let him run in front of you. No channel or anyone, we learn and listen from people in the sledding community and did our thing : ) I was using a GoPro camera, its what is best on the market I'd say.

Hi there, if you don’t count the bike, good harness, bungee line and bike antenna if you want one will be around $200 I reckon. There’s few websites in Australia, manmat, nonstopdog windchill etc... just google bikejoring gear or sled dog gear, you should find what you need. Best of luck.

Yes she can be sometimes
