Think it had something to do with the Kinnaird amalgamation. They probably changed the orientation so they were both usng the same address and fire number scheme. It's a guess though...

Dude. You're obviously not from the Kootenays. Castlegar airport is considered a PRO by many longtime residents. If your biggest concern is having an airport you can fly from on a whim, the Kootenays ain't for you. It's part of the Kootenays "Anti-Marketing" system that includes a band-aided power grid, sketchy roads, marginal snow removal, shitty mountain passes and road closures that can, and do, isolate us for days. One traffic accident can shut down a road all day. No Cosco etc. No same-day delivery. You're lucky if you see your packages in a week. Long drives for many medical issues as anything complicated goes to specialists in Kelowna. Your family and friends can't just pop over to the hospital to provide support. If you move here without a job or serious credentials, you'll likely end up working in the minimum wage tourism sector that grows by the day and means you'll be sharing accommodation. You certainly won't be able to buy a house with those jobs, even in Salmo. Expensive, high speed internet that is only called high-speed because it's faster than it was 5 years ago but is still sluggish compared to many locations in BC. Where many locations can only get Starlink as there are no other viable options. Marginal cell service if you can get it at all. I could go on... Takes a special breed to survive here and many folks move here, last a few years and move away. See that often. "Gotta get out of this hick town." Too live here, ya gotta go with the flow or lack thereof.

I disagree. I viable airport is important to every community, especially in emergency situations. I speak from personal experience.

Sooo, I took my van up your way in 2020, which was my way of socially distancing myself from Tennessee. Not Covid. Sooo now Tennessee has become a frying pan filled with nuts who pop and sizzle. How about a video for retired ex-pats fleeing our American Dystopia? Did I mention we’re old? On a fixed income? Oh, and the only item left on my bucket list is to pull off a Thoreau. One room cabin. Man living in perfect harmony with nature. I’m still buying lottery tickets to afford the Eden you call B.C., but in case I don’t win, any ideas ? Remember I’m the only unarmed man currently residing in Tennessee who still has the capacity for critical thinking. Love your videos. As an old radio, television and film person, your comic timing is impeccable. Thank you for making me laugh during the last days of Rome.

Hello Paul, I like your no nonsense commentary. I am originally form England, but I resided in Winnipeg for four decades. I hated this backwards city form day one and still detest it. I stayed for my son James to have a good relationship with his father, who is a great Dad. James has now grown up and he is a very successful Cinematographer. He works on documentaries with Scientists primarily for CBC television. James has been in every Province and most small francophone towns as he is fully bi-lingual. James has lived in Vancouver and New York. Other than New York James has never waxed poetic about anywhere in Canada until recently when he came back from Nelson B.C.James thinks I would love it. the quaint town, the boutiques , the coffee shops and excellent Indian restaurant (my favourite food) and the opportunity to take the ferry here and there as I love being on water. James thinks I should retire there, however I think it would be out of my price range, but regardless, i would want to see it first. Can you suggest the best hotel? or a good Air B&B if you know one. Thank you, Jane,
