I use 0, 60, 120, then 180 for most jigging rods that I have been doing. I tried the 0, 90, 180 method and it didn’t go so well. Ended up cutting 2 guides loose and redoing them.

You don’t. Just knock any clumps off and put it on the hook. The water you cast it into will do the rest

Jefferson Tx is haunted

we just filmed this past weekend at The Kissing Statue aka Forest cemetery in Beaumont , Tx . That place is definitely got the creepy vibes , our edit will soon be released on our channel . at one point we had the lighting so low from the camera and RGB lighting that it honestly looked as though the statues were in fact kissing. I think it is because of the lighting , if you hit the statue with the light at a certain point, it looks as though they're kissing , in my opinion i think the artist purposely made the statue like that . Creepy af at that cemetery at night though. Just be careful because it is located dead smack in the middle of gang territory . We were follwoed by SEVERAL cars on the way out after we were done filming .

Does it make a difference if the salt is iodized or not
@josephdoby6411 Жыл бұрын
Non iodized sea salt is preferred...
@JelsmaOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Not really but it is best to use a non idonized salt

Leave it unflared and use a rubber mallet to set it. Been using the same 4 spikes for 6 yrs. You can’t hit that flared end.
@Mike-mm8nz Жыл бұрын
The flared ends are unnecessary and useless. Waste of time and only weaken your spikes.

I DID see the ghost light back in the mid-1970s and was not alone. There were two other couples and three children who went with us. We got out an actually walked the road and the first appearance in off to the right. The color was reddish orange and looked just like a lantern bobbing along but there was no one holding it. The second appearance was about an hour later (it was going on midnight) and this time the light came from the left side of the road. The color was blue and it was much larger. At this moment I told my husband I was going back to the van. I had to convince the kids I was me and not the ghost of Bragg Road. The light we saw floated along it's own path but did NOT illuminate the trees it passed. Very unusual. My friend professional pencil sketch artist Wendell Williamson has "seen the light" on many occasions and even tried to hit it with his car. Thanks. I lived outside of Splendora Texas for ten years (1974-1984). Loved the critters and the owls.

I looked at the e-glass tubes and they seem to be 10x more expensive than the rods themselves (like 500-1000 dollars). Am I looking at the wrong stuff?
@JelsmaOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Yes, call your blank rep and find an e glass blank that fits over it

Someone told me that after you salt the shrimp for 24 hrs, you can put it in a container with minced garlic overnight and use when ready to fish. This works especially well with attracting catfish. Any thoughts on how this should be done? Will the juices moisten the shrimp or would it be better to use garlic powder instead of minced?
@JelsmaOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Salt them together - it will be more of a brine

You need to go back to High school and take a geography course. Southeast Texas is anywhere south of San Antonio and towards Corpus Christi. smh....

do you find a 5 foot piece of pvc to be perfect as a sand spike or do you recommend a short length?
@JelsmaOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
5 foot is perfect for out coast and sand texture. Softer sand a shorter spike will give less advantage to the fish on pulling it form the sand.

Love the vid mate . Just purchased my first spiral wrapped rod and love it . Can i ask , if i want to convert a two piece spinning rod into a casting rod and have it spiral wrapped , What happens with regards to the spine of the rod . Do i have the spine running on the top of the bottom section (reel and grip end ) and the spine running on the bottom of the top section of the blank ?
@JelsmaOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
Spine really doesnt make too much a difference, however it will if you dont spiral wrap a 2 piece. I say go for it.
