I'm no musician but Bloomfield is the only musician who gives me something different every time I hear the same live version for the 50th time. Such soul, so uninhibited, and so educated. The trinity.

George Gruhn admits that Gibson owes just as much equity to MIchael Bloomfield, as Nike owes and is paying equity to Michael Jordan. There's really only one thing that sells guitars. Great guitar players!

He did a lot of really great songs over his time, but this song is always my fav of his to listen to. The version on LIve at the Old Waldorf is amazing too

Man, to think this was the music that a generation grew up on and today, it's laptop computers, ketamine, digital synthetic beats produced by a dj on a laptop, I mean, there's just no comparison. We call it "classic" because it is and it lives on in a sort of museum, if you will, and thankfully, also on KZbin. What a special time the 60s/70s were for the music created.

Thanks for posting this. One comment: I don't know if the date of the interview is correct. According to the unpublished interview/transcript Williams submitted to Playboy (which was based on the tape recording he played on the air), that encounter with Lennon, Ono and Leary occurred on May 30 (which was actually a Friday, not a Saturday). Also, I'm unsure whether Williams travelled from Montreal to Boston the next day as the full taping (on a four track) of "Give Peace a Chance" happened on June 1 in Montreal. According to the unpublished interview, soon after they sang "Give Peace a Chance," they also started into an impromptu version of Leary's campaign song, "Come together, join the party." According to a later interview with Williams, that tape was lost. This might be the only record of that first recording of "Give Peace a Chance"

Jeff Beck stopped using his Le Pauls. He said they were too easy to play, too easy to make sound good, so they made him lazy.

When the rest of the world was giving Clapton acclaim, it took a while for us Chicago boys to give him a break. We preferred Mike.

Mike was smart enough to be anything, but wasn't interested in "success", except to be a great musician. His large family allowance gave him that freedom.

Mike played a Telecaster w/PBBB. He offered my friend 2 guitars, (possibly his Tele & Fretless Wonder), plus cash, for his 1959LP Standard, (like this one) but my friend liked his '59 too much to part w/it. Mike played the'59 w/the Flag, & on Super Session.

Mike left this guitar at a club, & never went back to find it. It was still missing last time I checked. At this point, it's a million$ ax.

This fantastic only question, why wasn't this done more often. I would rather listen to jams like this than anything else. This is grandiose in every component, so goooood. Thanks so much. Broomfield is my first guitar hero, from so long ago. He played with Woody Herman's big band. All of Mike's recordings are a treasure. Thanks for the upload.
