Thank you D.A. Pennebaker for making us part of jazz archive history, We were kids and we had so much fun. Dave was the sweetest man and the real thing. He was known as the Village Tinkerer. A Great carpenter among other things.

+David Lucas "Carpenter"? One day at rehearsal (L,H & R) in Chicago,Dave came with miniature Kay-Woodie pipes for everybody,on which he'd filed the bottoms flat; that was so they wouldn't tip over,when put down,betixt pokes.

+Jimmy Wormworth As to "the sweetest" one would've had to be on that midnight flight from Pittsburgh,to NYC,with him & me,right before Xmas time,'60,after an L,H & R gig. I seriously doubt that the "stewardess" he cursed out,BIGtime,after she told him he had to be seated & buckled,as we were on the runway,about to takeoff,thought he was sweet........at that time,anyway.

Maybe we'll be hearing about Ralph Lambert someday. But, if we don't, everybody doesn't have to chase fame and fortune. There are many people who have saved lives with just a smile at the right time, a kind word, a helping hand. I value such people more than the seekers of fame and fortune. One can be both, of course. 😊

I thought his appearance on Now is the Time the 10 year memorial of the death of Bird was his last recording. Very cool, tragic as not long after this he died while stopping for a stranger and changing their flat. Great musician, better person. God bless. Sad we will never know what would have happened.

@@CONCHYA Agreed though this is the 2nd Dave Lambert Singers, there was a 2nd singer for a brief bit after Parker with voices and LH&R , if I remember one of the liner notes, there was some um shenanigans (not by Dave) . Wonder if there are any recordings of when Anne Marie Moss (of Paris and Moss) filled in for a tick before LH& Bavan

The drummer is Gary Chester, and I'm pretty sure the bass player is George DuVivier... Anybody recognize the piano player?

Answering my own question... The piano player is Morris "Moe" Wechsler, a NYC session musician. Moe had a fantastic career and passed away on Feb. 29, 2016 at age 95.
