However in this case, in our first call we are not storing the returned value in first call, so the already modified array location will remain preserved with '5' being pushed back. But in the 2nd function call, we are re-initializing the value returned from our function resulting in re-writing the existing object

Just to add to this Few topics to go a little deep into, which is essential to not have a hard time in React 1) Template Literals. React includes the HTML syntax for the content (by using JSX), so knowing this in and out beforehand will make your life easier. 2) For the array methods, make sure your .map() is good and have played around with it. And the workings of callback functions in DEPTH. It's your bread and butter in React. 3) The 'this' keyword, because it will eventually come to give you weird bugs as the complexity of your React project increases to just above a beginner level.
