I actually have one of these. I ran it through a Motion Sound Pro3T/LowPro Leslie. It sounded pretty close to a Hammond since it's only uses sine wave for its tone generator.

There's one stupid thing on the CS6R...the front pots are NOT set set for ADSR and Reso/Cutoff as a common start point, they connected them to...EQ-bands instead. So you can't really shape the sound (like on the keyboard version), you are forced to set the ADSR+Reso/Cutoff manually, for every single sound, from the EQ-band settings...a very annoying thing, so I sold mine, which hurt me a bit.

Too bad, these are the general disadvantages of an expander, reduced interface but total midi control, which is why we first equip ourselves with a programmable keyboard controller or other midi interface to resolve or even improve all accessibility to the internal parameters of the machine and therefore extensive programming, I always equip mine with a good AN, FM, VL card (in reserve) and sometimes Latin percussion, this expander is great when you push the settings!

I still have mine, just had the lead on the power supply repaired, apart from the 3/4 size keys and the need for loads of batteries? it still works fine, can't seem to want to get rid of it, also, still have the original box. Great little synth.

I just bought one in 2024, how do i integrate it into Cubase? And where do i get its expansion cards to buy?
@m.schmied17145 ай бұрын
Cubase via Audio, getting Boards only on Secend-Hand Market.
@Znop5 ай бұрын
Record it into Cubase like you would a Microphone or other standard synth. Not sure how Cubase works but I'd imagine you're running the XV through an audio interface that's connected to your PC. Set that audio interface as an input on Cubase, then record with that audio input and it'll pick up and lay down any sounds you make with it.
