this thing has the most beautiful lush analog strings, surprised it wasn't demo'd. What a fantastic instrument for its time.

This exact keyboard is where it all started for me. My dad bought this keyboard in the 80s from Service Merchandise.

I really like this board, if you don't count the HT series, it seems to be the furthest implementation of Casio's consonant-vowel chip series. They have some good sounds and would have been great to see how much further they could have gone with it if they stayed the course.

HT series uses a different form of synthesis altogether called spectrum dynamic synthesis which is a very crude implementation of wavetable synthesis with an analogue filter added… Vowel Consonant synthesis ended with this beast…

Well the sound quality we are listen does not come from those speakers but passed by effects and through an amp. Sounds good though.

Sounds pretty well for a old keyboard

does the bass come from the auto-harmonize function of the synth ?

Hello! Good playing. Please tell me what to do if the control panel of such a synthesizer blinks and does not respond to buttons (mains power)

Check the internal ac power converter and then likely, you need to clean the heck out of switches and ribbon cable connections.

I just hot a syphonytone 8000 and not sure if it'd worth putting time and money into it. Can you offer advice?

Missed out on one for $50, now the toe rag who bought it, is trying to resell it for almost $500. I guess it’s a waiting game. There was also a CT-6500 for sale recently for $150.

*NowI'mMe* When it was released it's price was over 2000 DM in Germany, perhaps 2200 DM (can't remember exactly). The price of the next Flagship (CT-6500) was 2499 DM.
