I wish more contemporary Christian artists were like him and like Keith Green. Those two men who shared the same birthday who both had tragic ends had such a vulnerable and relatable heart for the Lord. So many times a lot of these modern Christian songs just don’t seem as raw as I would like them to be. We need songs, not just about deliverance over our fears, but we need songs of deliverance over sins

There's a wideness in God's mercy that I cannot find in my own; and He keeps this fire burning to melt this heart of stone. Keep me aching with a yearning, keeps me glad to have been caught in the reckless raging fury that they call the love of God. - Rich Mullins

He had a way of helping people be comfortable with their own vulnerability, and the gift of giving off the vibe its ok to be human because that's how we were made. He vibed Jesus all the way.

I've never heard anyone speak so honestly and be so real about our struggles as humans and our struggles in faith. He has his answers now face to face with Jesus..

Thank you for sharing this and many other Mullins clips of him telling stories, spiritual lessons. We need next and future generations more emboldened with God's love & mission over fear & lesser pursuits, filled with and walking in the Holy Spirit's power. As Isaiah 11:2-3a refers to, that daily God would fill us with the Spirit of the Lord, a Spirit of wisdom and understanding, a Spirit of counsel and strength, a Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord, delighting in holy respect over worldly respect, loving one another and considering others as more important than ourselves. I'm not there but that grace-driven potential is amazing.

The Holy Spirit used one of Rich's songs to reveal God's love to me. I will be grateful all of my days for his obedience, transparency and willingness to allow the Lord to do the work of sanctification in his life, which poured out into beautiful music and moment like this.

I don't know why He let me find it... (it only took me 8 years). I spent upwards of 10+ hours a day, studying the Bible, studying physics, studying Hebrew...looking for the answer to the ONE question I had my whole life, but no one would give me a straight answer. And I found it. Short answer, almost no believes me, but I found it. It's two things...but it's the way to CONNECT with God FOR REAL. These two things....1) pray in Tongues and 2) always tell the truth. This has been my life long quest. How to REALLY find Him. How to really connect with Christ. It's not instantaneous, and great hardship & persecution always come after, so that's why almost no one will not keep it up...but it is THE ANSWER. And remember, I do not lie. I found Him. I found Him...for real....really real. "Worship Him in Spirit (Tongues) & Truth." He's the love I've found...and He's been DOUBLY GOOD to me.

Luke 1:29-30 [29] But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be. [30] And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.

He was so real and fragile. And so honest about his struggles. Just because we surrender our lives to Christ doesn't mean it gets easier. It just means we have a Savior who understands what it's like to be tempted and gives us the promise of the Hojy Spirit (our helper) who will aid us when we struggle with temptation. And He forgives us when we stumble and fall.
