From my first experience in 1984, to my last sometime in early 2000s ... To this day I still can't get the Aquanet taste out of my mouth. Rock on L'amorz!!

Awesome memories practrically lived there every weekend saw countless shows I stopped counting. Made so many friends, chilled with the ladies`hung out back stage, raised a beer with so many bands and hung with Paulie in the DJ booth saw the Metal Massacre all three nights, then went to the after hours with the waitresses. Remember that! Really good times!!!

Great video. Amazing. The men carrying crosses, and footage of women weeping over coffins, can anyone advise on where this was taken? Thanks in advance.

Best times! I tried to be there every weekend 85-87. If none of my friends were going my Dad would actually drop me off and pick me up outside at like 2 or 3am.

I only got to go once back in the late 80's. Both clubs were far from me and we didn't know that the metal scene would die back then...I think we thought it would go on forever but grunge took over and now it's all salsa and really awful top 40.

Oh MAN... WOW! This brings back some great memories! Saw some great shows at L'Amour during my immortal, 'pre-grey hair' era! Queensryche (The Warning tour), Ace Frehley (first show without makeup), White Lion, Saxon, Malmsteen, and so many more, my now feeble old mind of 60 can't remember. They really packed them in too! I can still remember the electricity in the air as Ace Frehley took the stage without his makeup, and hearing 'oohs and aaahs' and 'holy shit' repeated over and over....

I started going there in the late 80's and was hooked. Saw Overkill and Type O Negative there SO many times. Skid Row. Pantera. Widowmaker with Dee Snider. Biohazard. Tyketto. Vixen. L'amour was basically our second home.

had the pleasure of playing there myself in my band at the time. Grew up seeing so many great bands. Best times seeing DRI, Slayer, Moterhead, Faster Pussycat, LA Guns, BAR 7, Ace Frehley. Wish I had a chance to see KIX and Paul Stanley when he was there. The fun was going to ZIG ZAG and buying tickets for L'amour shows.. Good times!

March 1994- seen Blue Murder (John Sykes), placed was packed, I was focused on watching John's amazing guitar playing, and at the same time my friends and I met three-girls and after the show went back to the girls place. I was walking around the house with another girl, and I opened a random door and there was friend with his head hanging off the bed while he was getting a BJ, the girl screamed at me to get the F-out and threw her shoe at me, I moved my head to the side and the shoe hit the girl standing behind me. I closed the door and as I walked down the hallway, I can hear my buddy Billy just laughing his ass off as I was walking down the hall, while the festivities in the room resumed. One of the funniest nights of my life.

I was there from 1988-2003. I was too young for the early years. I remember going to L’Amour on cold, frigid Saturday nights and couldn’t dress warm because it would look uncool. Then took the train back to Williamsburg where I lived. After I got married and moved to Coney Island area I went a few times with my husband and we saw Manowar (Warriors of the World era) and the club was so packed there was no oxygen. They let in too many people. I was scared for my life. I never went back after that.

I forget what band was playing but it was March or April of 1988 and New York Magazine was there snapping hundreds of pictures. I was 17 yrs old and was there with my boyfriend. Never in a million years did I think our picture would make it into the magazine, but they wrote their article around a picture of us! lol Ours was the only picture that they used, and they even cropped it using only my side of the picture in the front of the magazine where they list the articles! lol I had no idea until my friend saw the magazine at a dentist office. She saw the article while thumbing through, then brought it to school for me the next day :) I was also there when Vixen played. The drummer threw her drumstick and I watched in slow motion as it headed towards me. It hit me about a 1/2 inch away from my right eye! The drummer looked terrified. The drumstick fell on my boots and a gazillion people scrambled for it. Thank God it didn't get me in the eye! All in all, I used to love going there, and my big hair :)
