Dear 2Set, It's been half a month. I wonder if you've decided to quit and put everything here behind you and never come back to look at the comments. Actually, I've been deeply touched and overwhelmed by the comments here about fans going through different emotions like me since your sudden resignation;fans share heartwarming stories about how you've changed their lives,just like you've changed mine. I wonder if I haven't been supportive enough as a fan to make you stay. I wonder if you have been hiding from the public eye deliberately. I'm sure you'll be easily recognized in public,then we may have some news about you. Then I wonder even more... For years,you've been so relatable,but now all I can do is to speculate, which doesn't help. I also wonder if you miss us too. For years,I've been in a habit of selecting your old and new videos for my family to enjoy over dinner. Now we're still watching your videos,the handful that's left. Sometimes, we want to have a good cry over your disappearance, but then we try to rationalize by saying ,"Don't be silly,it's just a parasocial relationship. "Maybe you think the same. I try hard to remember when was the last time I'd a heartbreak in real life and how long it took me to feel completely hopeless. Dear 2Set,wherever you're, wish you well. Nice if you'd come back when you're ready. I'm still practicing hard because of the fond memories I've here.

Thanks to 2 set,I finally learned some sociology, in the hard way, that parasocial heartbreak is a real heartbreak. It can hurt so deeply. For many years, time with 2set was like a fairy tale,too good to be true. They're like our Asian moms and big brothers . They care if we practice enough, lose our interests in classical music etc,etc. They share stories about music school and the orchestra. We even stuck together during the lockdown in the pandemic.... Just 2 weeks before your short goodbye announcement, I saw you at the talk in HKU. Then all of a sudden,you vanished into thin air, and so were most of the videos. I cannot think of a compelling reason why you can't do a proper farewell video. You have shared when either of you fell ill before. If some legal or personal issue is involved, I think you can still do a proper farewell video without touching on those issues. A proper closure is healthy to all. It would be lovely to be reminded of the core values of this channel: Stay passionate about classical music and keep practicing. Oh, I still feel so sad, a whole host of feelings actually....

Watching this makes me SO SAD. I've been speculating tho, they could've been hacked or been sued (copyright issues) and had to take stuff down or something

At least TwoSet Talks is still here. I think they could go in this direction as well as TwoSet Academy. Or they could use other forum. Brett and Eddie have evolved much from their younger selves.

Unless there is a reason you cannot talk right now, be this a rebrand or an out right retirement, I am really disappointed in you guys. Not because you are rebranding or retiring - you are entirely within your rights to do so. Even the removal of your videos is super painful but within your rights - they are your intellectual property, you can do what you want with them. But the utter lack of warning and explanation is just rude and has severely damaged the brand, so if this is a publicity stunt because you are rebranding, it was a bad move. Even if you do come back, if you don’t provide an explanation, I don’t think I can support whatever new venture you do. A major part of the Twoset brand was its genuineness. You two are genuinely good violinists, and you seemed genuinely motivated by your desire to spread love for classical music. It didn’t seem to be about money or fame - you didn’t really do collabs with other KZbinrs for views or clout (Ray became a KZbinr after he stated appearing in your videos, and your musician friends appearing in your videos were for musical reasons, not because they were a KZbin brand you could get views with) and you didn’t take sponsorships. I don’t recall if you ever stated why you didn’t do these common KZbin practices but it appeared to be because you wanted to keep your channel free from those kind of commercial interests that dilute the purity of your mission. To be clear, it would have been fine to do these things, but it seemed a point that mattered to you guys and it made you stand out and became part of your brand, whether you intended it or not. When authenticity is at the core of your brand, pulling shit like this is just the worse thing you can do to it, tbh. And putting aside brand value, just as people, it’s a shitty thing to do to the community. Yes, we only have a parasocial relationship, but you guys owe your current success to your fans. Yes, it’s because of your talent and likability that you have so many fans, but all of the talent and likability in the world will not pay your bills. You guys know this more than anyone, as people who work in the arts. So to do this to your fans is just really cruel and unappreciative. 10 days is an eon in the internet world, and you have already genuinely upset many, many people. Given how young your fanbase is, this means you’ve upset a vulnerable population too. Again, if all of this is because of circumstances outside of your control, like hacking or legal disputes, then obviously none of the above applies. But if you are choosing to do this, then, this is harsh, but shame on you, really…
@hopeful2012a26 күн бұрын
You spoke my heart. They have a responsibility towards the community they have built up. When it's time to quit,they should do it thoughtfully and gently to avoid hurting their fans as much as possible. It's just an act of basic human kindness. I'm so disappointed😢
@kristingarson241328 күн бұрын
To say you need to practice is obvious. But what I say is that NONE of my old teachers asked me about what inspires me?? Or how are you feeling? If you're depressed or stressed out, you're not going to feel like practicing. And of course, you need to be taught HOW to practice. And another really important thing I realized as I got older, is DON'T BE AN ALL OR NOTHING PRACTICER. If you have 15 minutes, practice. Pick a few measures, and work on it. I can get a lot done in 15 minutes! In addition, one can be inspired by your teacher, but I have learned that it is YOUR JOB to find ways to inspire yourself. To stay inspired. It's not easy sometimes. 😏 Another thing is to compete with yourself. If you compare yourself with others, that can be devastating for your inspiration. Every one has different life experiences. That's why it is futile yo compare yourself to others. Play to be your best. Not someone else's best.

Such an ending is sacrilegious ( no offense, just use their humor ). I don't think they will come back as individuals or a group to youtube. Otherwise, they would not have quit so disrespectfully, leaving many fans heartbroken, confused, and worried. They might have thought that they couldn't be youttubers all their lives and therefore shifted to more stable jobs. Whatever the case,leaving like that is sacrilegious.

Just wanted to say, for the record, that I know you guys don't actually *owe* us any kind of detailed explanation. Heck, you might even be planning something specific, and not completely walking away at all. But, either way, I just want to say it would be really cool if you would devote an episode here to doing kind of a retrospective, and possibly talking at least some about what prompted the big shake up/retirement. I personally would find it interesting not just to get recent details, but also to hear you speak about the last decade. Hope that nothing catastrophic has happened, like a break up or outside threat, and wish you guys well!

I wonder why the twosetviolin homepage is still online and unmodified. Also the twosetacademy website is there asking for application. Both give not any hint. In the past, I remember Eddies private account's videos with a lot of very valuablue content have been deleted also without any notice, leaving many people sad. Now the same with twoset account. I have to say that if they did not really quit but show up later with different projects I will always have a sore feeling with it, feeling angry. I knew them from their very beginning, I donated money when they were busking for their first world tour. But now I feel I'm done with it. After sending this message I will unsubscribe.

You guys think they feel guilty after how they left the comunity? Because I can see quite the strong arguments appearing allover the reddit how disrespectfull their sudden drop of the fanbase was. And i agree. As a long term dan I find it quite cruel. No matter what happened behind the scenes. And I doubt many fans will ever come back to supporting them the same way, even after an explanation.

His comment about saying no if you're not ready reminded me of something that Jeff Dunham (a comedian) said about being scouted by the Tonight Show early in his career, and being told at that time that he wasn't ready yet. He was really down about it but was told by them, "Better five years too late than one day too early." And indeed when he finally got onto the show, he aced it. There's nothing more important than building a reputation as RELIABLE. You need to be known as clutch -- and that means knowing when you aren't ready yet.

Okay, I know that the whole Twoset drama is happening, But I'd just like to comment after listening to the Spotify podcast of this It is quite annoying how the interviewer asked questions like "Were you guys in the top 50 violinists in Australia when you were young? How about in Brisbane? Top 10? Who was the better violinist?" Just very... No Right Answer questions, only wrong 😞
