I love your tutorials and can’t wait to try this!! Do you do straight line or free motion quilting on these baby quilts or is it not necessary?

can i make a top with flannel and put Minky on the back ? if so do i prewash my flannel first as i know it will shrink? I am making a baby quilt for my great grand son and they would like to put a woodsy themes on the front with different animals out of flannel , do i put a batting in the center or not, ?? have you ever done anything like that ? also what size would you suggest for the front blocks ,she picked out 4 different designs to incoperate into the top and maybe use some of the Minky in the front too and put the Minky on the back , and then i will need to bind it with my Minky, pleas help need it done soon , thank you so much

A good way to prevent so much lint is to use a hand vac and as soon as you cut the fabric with the rotary cutter; before moving the fabric, run the hand vac or a shop vac with wedge attachment down the cut edge. It gets rid of most of the loose fibers and your sewing area and yourself stay much cleaner. I figured this out while making multiple Minky scarves for Christmas one year.

All my lap and twin quilts are not cuddly, but bulky. I love making quilt pieced tops. Can I just use cuddle or minky for the back without batting? Do I have to machine quilt it so they don't stretch out? Please help. I've stopped making quilt tops cause no one uses them, just looks at them. They like using fleece blankets.

I used cuddle fleece for the backing on a quilt, then I did the binding with cotton quilt and it was very difficult to bind. There were so many layers. It was QAYG appliqué project. I don’t see you using batting. It was a Wendy Gratz puppies pattern. Should I just not have used cuddle fleece? Should I have used cuddle fleece for the binding? I’m getting ready to do another Gratz pattern, but I don’t want the binding nightmare. Can anyone give me some advice?

Interesting! What is cuddle cloth and minkee fabric? I can't see it clearly in the video. Is it like fleece or cotton flannel? I want to order it online. I've been quilting for more than 20 years but these names are not familiar.
@constitutionalrepublic19664 жыл бұрын
OneWorldSinger look up minky or cuddle cloth on Amazon. It will explain exactly what they are.

If using Minkee as a backing only, can I use this same method for binding? I will be binding with minkee.

Too much talk and not enough explaining as to why you are doing what you do. Normally, I like your videos, but you're wasting too much time trying to do things. Your tutorials don't seem to be as organized and straight to the point (comprehensive) as they could be. Sorry!

Im wondering if it frays when you bind like that? wouldnt the raw edges start to unravel? this is a great video but wondering about fraying. Thank you
@copperbuttons73767 жыл бұрын
No fraying. Cuddle fabric does not fray or unravel so no need to tuck under a raw edge when binding. Hope that helps.
