This is my favorite song. I’m 13 and I understand this songs meaning. In so many words, Life sucks, there’s nothing we can do about it, we just gotta ride the wave. The choices we make are what write our destiny. And not fate’s heavy grasp. And life isn’t always gonna be roses and sunshine, there’s still gonna be a shit-ton of thorns.

He asked a question, now I'm gonna answer it and tell you WHY this should be the American National anthem: "How can one little street swalliw so many lives?" Answer: "Witchcraft and Satanism." America, Combat that.

Hope everyone here is doing okay these days. Please be safe and know that people care about you, even if it may not feel like it at times. If you are feeling troubled, maybe professional help is the answer, or talking to a trusted friend about what you are going through. Wish you the best.

I identify with these lyrics, now i'm searching redemption,i pray to God,started reading the bible instead of just leaving it open on a corner, sometimes i remember some of my past but i will forget it all someday and be a man of worth, you reading must not believe in God but i wish you all blessings.(i'm in my dad's account by the way)

I listened to this song in high school now that I graduated early two years ago just shows how brutal life is the truck I got at 16 is now broken beyond repair this is coming from a guy who did nothing but read and clean to cope for depression. Stay strong live below your means it will get better

Lyrics When we were young, the future was so bright Woah-oh The old neighborhood was so alive Woah-oh And every kid on the whole damn street Woah-oh Was gonna make it big and not be beat Now the neighborhood's cracked and torn Woah-oh The kids are grown up, but their lives are worn Woah-oh How can one little street swallow so many lives? Chances thrown Nothing's free Longing for, used to be Still it's hard, hard to see Fragile lives Shattered dreams (go!) Jamie had a chance, well, she really did Woah-oh Instead she dropped out and had a couple of kids Woah-oh Mark still lives at home 'cause he's got no job Woah-oh He just plays guitar and smokes a lot of pot Jay commited suicide Woah-oh Brandon OD'd and died Woah-oh What the hell is going on? The cruelest dream, reality Chances thrown Nothing's free Longing for, used to be Still it's hard, hard to see Fragile lives Shattered dreams (Go!) Chances thrown Nothing's free Longing for (what), used to be Still it's hard, hard to see Fragile lives Shattered dreams

I was born in 2000... Damn... I've gotten back on contact with high school friends... a lot of the popular kids got addicted to drugs... one kid threw his life away over a sex tape (he filmed himself (18 at the time) and his girlfriend (17) and air dropped it throughout the school. One guy murdered his mother. A group went to prisom for gang raping a girl. Funnily enough, the one chick who had a kid at 20 got lucky with a fiance who supports her going to college, and is a great dad. I was the biggest loser in my school years... Now? In college making dean's list grades, and working. But, for a few to turn out alright, but so many of them to get into trouble, or throw their lives away? It's awful... At it wasn't just high school... In middle school, people got expelled for pot brownies. One girl gave birth in the hallway. She was only 13. One brought a gun to school. One threatened to actually shoot up the school. I was on her hit list. No. The kids aren't alright.

I was a teenager when the opioid crisis hit my state, it changed the town for the worse and by the time you were a senior in highschool you saw it effecting the kids. By the time I was a young adult so many of the friends I knew in highschool were zombies i no longer recognized. Everyone once in a while one would remember you and you’d see a little glint in their eyes, like a corpse waking up. But that’s all it was, brief reanimation.
