I was at this tournament and remember even back then it was all about King Richard he was holding court in the locker rooms doing interview after interview.

Hinguis is one of the greatest female talents ever. But she fell a little bit short against those hard hitting players, but I think she could have evolved her gam if she had kept being motivated. Another thing I would have loved. Seing Sharapova against Sabalenka at the top of their game

Can't keep the volume on with Sharapova's ridiculous grunting and screeching. She should've been fined for that...

Serena allows opponents to overwork themselves in the 1st , just to beat them the next 2 sets. Lol🎉🎉❤

From one set down, Justine fought her way back to win a tough match, which shows her resilience and tactful play!

Entrambe molto talentuose. Seles è stata una delle più grandi e lo sarebbe stato molto di più senza l'incidente.

This match was a part of a 35 match, 6-tournament win streak for Venus that was the longest of the 21st Century, until Iga finally broke that record back in 2022! Amazing it took 22 years for someone to finally do it!

Horrible that it ended with a netcord because they were playing great. Excellent volleys and both are really good when pulled wide on the stretch.

They had some interesting encounters... Both great defensive skills, Elena had more firepower but Jelena's serve was more reliable (not really a weapon)... Loved both of them, I didn't know who to root for when they had to battle each other

Henin had such a perfect technique both on her forehand and backhand. The power she could generate from a relatively small body size was incredible.

Fun Fact: Aga was in Canal+ Studio to comment Iga vs Kasatkina match at 2024 WTA Finals and she told a funny story about this match, that "she played to endure some time on court and Azarenka got too stiff in 2nd, trying to serve for the match, and when it went 5-5 in 2nd Azarenka started to fake injuries and making theatrics" it's Aga's words xD

I always liked Amelie Mauresmo the most. When I watch how she played, I just want to cry that she will never be in wta again. Women's tennis died in December 2009 when she announced her retirement. I think there will never be such a great person in wta as Amelie. Amelie you are the best.

Graff was such a sore loser. I am so glad Serena finished Seles’ job. She threw her into retirement and then broke all her records. This time Graff had no psychopath stabber to save her career.

Justine served Serena a big ole slice of "Humble Pie" in that first set. But I believe it was pie fortified with vitamins, because after that set, Serena stepped up to a whole new level.
