You are 98% correct!! In my state of Oregon, you are allowed an ebike with a 1000w capacity. That said, Oregon also defunded the police, and they do not work with federal law officials. So other than the rampant public drug use, climbing murder rates, and historically high car thefts, im not too worried about being pulled over, while riding my bike. Its pretty sad here, but hopefully it will get better!! Thanks for watching and commenting.

Glad I saw your review of the Suburban Stove recall. I just bought my 2021 3120rl Keystone Montana. During the after purchase tour Marty showed me the stove with the “at the time” working LED-stove knobs with the beautiful blue glow and light inside the stove. He did say there is a recall on the stove which he did say they would take care of before I take possession. OK 🤷♀️. So I get set up, moved in and I turn on the oven switch to enjoy the LED-stove ambiance and get nothing. No lights, no oven lights either. So I set out on KZbin to find an answer to m y dismay. Well….. Its 1:25am and I found your KZbin channel. Thank you for your great video and explanation of what the recall did to my oven. Now, I can grumble out loud but at least I can sleep better knowing the recall was dealt with minus those beautiful LED-stove lights. Sad!!

1:25am??? Thats not good. Im sorry you lost sleep over this issue. A short update... contacted SuburbanRV technical support today. They said they are still working on a permanent fix. They were going to have a a meeting this week about it. Im not holding my breath. But I will continue to call them, and hopefully they will do the right thing and repair the stove back to the original condition. With the added safety upgrades. Please get a good nights sleep!!

I have a new 2025 Outdoors RV that came with the Suburban lights disabled and I can't get the oven to work at all. I don't know how many others are affected by the recall but it seems like the threat of a class action lawsuit might get Suburban moving on this. Any lawyers out there? How do you initiate a class action lawsuit?
@retirementwithpete98592 ай бұрын
Hey George. Did your dealer tell you that your stove was included in the recall? I would ask them if it was part of it. I didnt think the 2025 models were included, but it sounds like yours was. I have contacted SuburbanRV twice in the last month. I talked to warranty/ technical support. In both calls, I was informed that a permanent fix was being engineered, but they could not give me a timeline. I contacted NHTSA and asked if they were aware of a permanent fix for this recall. They said that Suburban is required to notify them of any permanent repairs associated with the recall. As of 11/18/24, they had not been contacted by Suburban. I will be calling Suburban monthly from now on. As far as a class action suit, thats above my paygrade, but I would love to hear from any attorney on this option.

Tbh after installing alarms with starter killers, and kill switches for years. Best killswitch to install is a starter killer killswitch. Cut the starter wire and connect it onto a switch, place the switch anymore, maybe even in the engine bay area, yes you'll have to keep opening the hood but most likely no one would be able to figure it out. No matter what, without the starter they can't really start the car. The fuse one from what my clients have told me usually never works as thieves are getting smarter because of videos like these. They'll look into the fuse box and disconnect any wires that stands out and add in their own. Also had a steering wheel lock, it can throw off some thieves but not all. What I've done for a client, was an alarm system with starter killer, tracker, 3 Killswitches one for starter, fuel pump and fuse, then a steering wheel lock. But yeah this is the fastest and cheapest way, keep it up! 💯
@retirementwithpete98592 ай бұрын
Holy cow, an alarm, 3 kill switches and a wheel lock??? Only person stealing it would need a rollback tow truck😄. So far, no one has stolen the car again. Keeping our fingers crossed, but if they want it bad enough, they will take it. Great comments!! Thanks for sharing!

We have a 2022 Keystone Montana and received the recall notice but hadn't yet been able to get our Fifth-Wheel to the dealer yet to have this fixed. "That fix" is NOT a fix! This is extremely wrong in so many ways! They can't get away with that. It's a safety issue NOT to have the lights! Everyone please stay on-board and in-touch with eachother on this topic. We had a 15amp fuse blow and I replaced it twice before killing all power to everything including from the batteries and investigating further. I could smell something like wires/plastic burning. Apon further investigation I took apart the stove top and found the smell coming from the left side stove top knobs. If the fuse didn't blow, we would've had a fire on our hands. None of this is okay, not even the "Remedy"!!!

I questioned the dealership as to why there is a piece of electrical tape instead of the light switch! Saw this video and also read about others who had the red light issue when their light switch was in the 'off' position. I'm going to share your video with my camp neighbor who also has the same issue.
@retirementwithpete98592 ай бұрын
Am I understanding you correctly?? The dealership did the recall repair, and they place a piece of tape over the spot where the switch was?? Or was the tape placed over the switch, to keep you from using it?? Either way, neither are acceptable. If you can, please clarify.
@rickrentz66022 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for the information! I’d like to just fix this myself, wondering what the heavier white wires coming out if those are needed other than just capping off the light switches?
@retirementwithpete98592 ай бұрын
I belive the white wire and the white/red wire are the 12v power coming from the battery. I have since learned that the 2 red and black wires, on the right side, are the power wires going to the stove light. Good luck on your repair, and let me know how it turns out!!

@ Is there any way to keep the oven light on?
@retirementwithpete98592 ай бұрын
Im no electrician, but I know just enough to get me in trouble. I just took a look at my wires again. The black oven light wire is daisy chained thru all the pcb's. The red wire runs back to the switch. You would think you could run the black wire to the switch also, if you are keeping the backlights disconnected. Then reconnect the power white wires. But there again...Im no electrician 😄

@@retirementwithpete9859 dont you find it interesting that they give you an access cover to replace the spark plug which doesnt get replaced often, but to change the oil they make it a nightmare. why didnt you just go to the hardware store and get a extension tube to screw into the drain and cap it instead of going through all that?
@retirementwithpete98593 ай бұрын
I thought of that, but I didnt want the risk of oil spilling into the extension tube, when im not draining the oil. The fact is Westinghouse just mailed it in on this detail.
@john-smith.2 ай бұрын
@@retirementwithpete9859 What you make no sense. You put an extension on it with a cap, of course its gonna fill with oil...but its capped. You just need a few Tablespoons more to make up for what sits in the tube. Air compressors commonly have a tube installed. The hard part is getting the right threads....actually that little extension that's under the 10mm bolt would come out, and you can try to match that thread & length u want.

disconnect the tensioner spring underneath, loosen the idler pulley and tensioner pulley. Then remove the belt from the engine pulley first then you have plenty of slack to spin the belt off around the fan without all that extra work.

Great idea. Ill try it the next time I have to change the belt. Might be 20 years though😄
@geraldburmeister96373 ай бұрын
@retirementwithpete9859 very well could be 20 more years but probably not. As a former tech I found often times the bearings in the idler or the tensioner will go bad and burn the second belt much sooner and those pulleys will probably need replaced the second time around. For anyone watching I would replace those pullies everytime I replace that belt. They aren't very expensive and will help insure less future repairs. Just talked with Suburban Tech department and at this time no known repair available to safely keep the lighting but did state engineering is still working on it. What I did was to check total current with all lights functional and that value was 990 mA (or < 1 amp), so I bridged a fuse holder with a 1 amp fast blow fuse in the main power supply until the sufficient repair is made available. Hopefully this will suffice until better days ahead.

It will restore the backlights and stove light!!!!🤗 Once it has passed thru engineering and safety, it will be fabricated. They will notify Keystone, along with all other manufacturers. We will then receive another letter from Keystone to schedule a time for them to repair the stove. This is great news!! I asked why Keystone is not aware of this repair. She did not have an answer.
