If Israel's song is so great why isn't it charting outside of Israel? Huh! Scratch the surface of the televote and you'll find ad bombing, disapora weaponisation and ministry involvement. Maybe some people like bland ass ballads and are willing to overlook genocide, harassment of other contestants and censorship but I think finding such people who are either not motivated by Zionism or right wing political agendas and are truly just about the music....man are pretty rare. Music is subjective and I've disliked some heavy hitters on both the jury and televote and both sides - I don't like Slo Mo. Also yup subjectively you have submitted one of the worst takes on a former winner I've ever seen which went way beyond what the televoters that year thought. Also I do not trust the politically neutrality of someone who repeatedly bitched about social distancing when it saved lives and would have saved even more than the UK implemented it sooner or the US consistently. Portugal is simpler - I watched Semi 1 with a friend and the Final with my brother and mum. My friend and brother found Gritto boring. I kinda get both sides on this - to someone who doesn't get the nuances or doesn't care it's a bit dirgey but to anyone who does it's got value. For all your bitching about juries that's why they're there to boost songs like Gritto and Eeaa last year that the average viewer won't appreciate.

ESC died this year. The ebu needs to get sued for every cent they ever earned from the netherlands and the dutch works of art. It is gross breach of contract. Disgusting to harass an artist it was supposed to protect. That is criminal and should be investigated.

The EBU had no choice. If they would allow threatening behavior from the contestants they sure would be criticized even more. Joost made a mistake. If he has a problem with cameras, what was he even doing there? Why don't anyone get that if they want fame, they soon get tired of not being able to control the cameras and the press. That is the price. No tolerance to aggressive behaviour. She didn't film him taking a pee on the toilet, which is the only place you can be yourself on such an evening.

Thank you for this nuanced reaction. I completely agree. I’ve been enjoying the contest for years, but after this debacle I couldn’t even get myself to watch it. I even think we should never ever compete in it again unless the EBU does something significant to rehabilitate Joost. There’s probably no chance any reputable Dutch artist will want to be exposed to the ridiculous ‘rules’ of the EBU in the future. Thanks EBU for completely ruining the whole event for many millions of people. I literally still feel unwell because I can’t stop thinking about how Joost must feel after his life is ruined for the third time. I just hope he realises that the whole country is incredibly proud of him. We all want to cuddle him.

The camerawomen was in the wrong cause there was allready an agreement that Joost Klein was NOT to be filmed at that moment and she did and didn't want to stop filming after Joost asked her kindly 2 times. So makes me wonder if the EBU is rigged and didn't want for Joost to win, the camerawoman had to assigment to provoke Joost and then the EBU could disqualify him..............really over nothing.

I hope that the Netherlands never, ever participates in the Eurovision Song Contest again...fuck the EBU

Norway (my first place song) finishing last is a bloody travesty. Switzerland being propped up by the juries sucked too. Baby Lasagna got cheated by them, and Azerbaijan failing to qualify from SF1 made for a most disappointing contest this year, and that's not counting all the bad drama going into Saturday. I am one sad cat right now.
