Thank you for making this video. The situation is grossly unfair. Joost was harassed after an exhausting, emotional performance and reacted like most artists would do. Instead of EBU takking points from their worker for disobeying instructions, Joost is completely disqualified. EBU's "zero tolerance" policy only counts for the Dutch in 2024.

You are the only one who explained it properly what happened, the others are just playing with words… Dear Sloth, please don’t underestimate yourself, you have a talent to talk, explain, relate the message, communicate with your audience. At last, if you focus and concentrate on your KZbin channel, you’ll be very successful ❤ My heart goes out to Netherlands 🇳🇱

Many reports came out before the comment by the Netherlands broadcasting company. People really wanted info!! Course we don't really know everything even if we think we know something. We heard lots of rumors, or atleast publicly un proved stories.

@@TheLethargicSloth Just to be clear! I wasn't criticizing you Brandon! Sorry if I seemed to be doing that! I'm just really tired of the whole thing already and a bit disturbed by all the (Dutch?) people that seem to have already decided the case without having seen any evidence... Of course Joost is innocent cause he's Dutch! How could he possibly have done anything wrong? I just listened again to the part about you not wanting to talk to anyone and being wound up after work... Of course I have no idea where you work, if there's people with camera's there or people with machine guns... If the latter I'm sure/I hope you wouldn't be likely to make any agresssive gestures towards them when you get off work and just don't want to deal with people who might just be doing their job... And if you did, well, maybe you could try a "sorry guys, just a bit too much energy, my bad, or NOT my fault... Whatever, maybe? Or maybe not! Who knows... I'm really really gonna stop commenting now!

the EBU has ruined the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest

I don't know what actually happened either, but what makes you so sure that there's absolutely zero possibility that it may have been Joost who f'ed up and "ruined" it?

The camera girl was not allowed to film him, and others, after any of the performances The EBU was breaking their own rule! She did it about 5 more times than just once. But the camera girl was not reprimanded for her misbehavior. Btw, why is her video evidence not shown anywhere on the internet or television, except the part where she was harassing Joost Klein in the hotel while him trying to get into the elevator? It seemed like the hotel staff was being pushed by her and the camera while the staff members had to protect Joost from her barrage. The comment she made about his parents was a no-go question and very intrusive. All in all, she behaved very unprofessional and unacceptably rude towards Joost. Not only the performer Joost Klein was disrespected by the EBU, but also Netherland as a whole country, and his fanbase too. This will have consequences in 2025. EBU's motto for next years event will be: "No politics, except ours".
@yaldenskigaming53718 ай бұрын
"Why is her video evidence not shown anywhere on the internet or television"? Maybe because the "court of public opinion" doesn't need or care about evidence and did a great job already "deciding the case" without it? (yeah, slight sarcasm there, sorry!

Thank you for reacting to this disqualification. I agree, there could've been a mediator and talk around the table or excuse made. But they choose the harder punishment.
@maaiker29778 ай бұрын
I heard they did just that and joost apologised but it wasn't accepted by the camera woman. She clearly had it in for him and fr*med him to get this result. I hope he su*s her for def^mation and d*mages to his career/reputation. You just don't do this to people especially not in a pr*fessional setting. They say they had a 0 tol^rance policy, than that camera woman should have been fired the second she started har^ssing people against the agreed to rules making it an uns*fe working involvement for the artists.

That's an honest reaction. We still don't know exactly how it went. The EBU has stated that there's more to it than the AVROTROS version. If the AVROTROS statement is correct, the decision is ridiculous. But we still don't exactly know at this moment.
@Snowshowslow8 ай бұрын
That's true, but it is really really bad public relations that the EBU have not made any more substantive statement.

The camerawomen was in the wrong cause there was allready an agreement that Joost Klein was NOT to be filmed at that moment and she did and didn't want to stop filming after Joost asked her kindly 2 times. So makes me wonder if the EBU is rigged and didn't want for Joost to win, the camerawoman had to assigment to provoke Joost and then the EBU could disqualify him..............really over nothing.

Thank you for this nuanced reaction. I completely agree. I’ve been enjoying the contest for years, but after this debacle I couldn’t even get myself to watch it. I even think we should never ever compete in it again unless the EBU does something significant to rehabilitate Joost. There’s probably no chance any reputable Dutch artist will want to be exposed to the ridiculous ‘rules’ of the EBU in the future. Thanks EBU for completely ruining the whole event for many millions of people. I literally still feel unwell because I can’t stop thinking about how Joost must feel after his life is ruined for the third time. I just hope he realises that the whole country is incredibly proud of him. We all want to cuddle him.

ESC died this year. The ebu needs to get sued for every cent they ever earned from the netherlands and the dutch works of art. It is gross breach of contract. Disgusting to harass an artist it was supposed to protect. That is criminal and should be investigated.

Hi Brandon! Double o in Dutch is pronounced the same as the o in Toast, so: pronounced as Joast... Not "Joost"... Anyway, I want to get back to ignoring this whole thing now, thanks... Which reminds me: Stroopwafel also not pronounced as "stroopwafel" it's a Dutch word, so: Stroapwafel... the a in wafel is a different story... Back to ignoring this whole thing now... Oh, wait: Praising Joost and The country/history/people of The Netherlands/pronouncing the Dutch double o correctly will likely get you several thousand Dutch subscribers, so... well, nothing. Yes, I'm Dutch but not "proud of it" so "Dutch in name only, a Dino? OK, my passport too! But who cares right? "Have a nice day, bye! I just realised... Good job on the J sound! Yoast is probably the best way to describe how to pronounce it... So first part as in you, the rest as in toast... No kind of pun at all intended... Well, OK! Joost!: You toast! Awww, soooo sad really... But what luck that so many people witnessed "the incident" and now letting us all know exactly what happened and that the entire country was victimized because of course Joost did absolutely nothing wrong, it's just sooooo unfair! Listening to your comments again; "Chaos/insanity" are you sure you're talking about the "Song contest" and not about all the "real stuff" happening around this part of the World? SO sad that we could have all just forgotten about all that for a while and talk/think about something else instead for just a few hours, but nooo, of course someone had to ruin that... Poor us... --- I know very very little/nothing about the rules for participants in the Eurovision song contest but I can imagine that they have them... it's not a sport like football/soccer where you get a red card and are removed from the game if you grossly misbehave (even coaches on the sidelines sometimes!) Maybe it was a huge overreaction, maybe it wasn't! I don't know! Somehow I doubt the Police would have gotten involved over a flipped bird... OK, I really really want and need to stop talking about this now, much more important things to urgently do...

The EBU had no choice. If they would allow threatening behavior from the contestants they sure would be criticized even more. Joost made a mistake. If he has a problem with cameras, what was he even doing there? Why don't anyone get that if they want fame, they soon get tired of not being able to control the cameras and the press. That is the price. No tolerance to aggressive behaviour. She didn't film him taking a pee on the toilet, which is the only place you can be yourself on such an evening.
