Dear Mr. Liam : I'm an elderly Danish gardener who for 40 years has been wondering about 'The Mystery of the African Linnaea',- information about the northern, low-arctic Twinflower having once been discovered somewhere in the Ruwenzori Mountains of C. Africa. And information which I originally discovered as a young 'varsity-student' when I got to find Professor Ronald Good's iconic 'The Geography of the Flowering Plants' gathering dust in our local Odense 'Uni-Bib', some 40 years back. Well, only five years ago I FINALLY found out where Professor Good had got this information from, Mr. Liam, and now got to know the strange and wonderful story about how 3 Eminent Edwardian Ladies - Dame Alice Godman and her two Daughters - in 1923/24 performed their own, private botanical expedition into "Darkest Africa". And how the two Misses Godman then, on Jan. 6'th, 1924, discovered Linnaea borealis in a place called LUTOBU, IN THE MBARARA DISTRICT OF UGANDA. Then I subsequently struggled for five years trying to get some of the world's leading experts on 'African Flora' to help me confirm this Godman-find and confirm the continued existence of this 'Boreal, Northern Plant' in C. Africa, Mr. Liam,- and last year even managed to get a British botanist, Dr. Julian Shaw, to write an article about this amazing plant-find in the important horticultural magazine, called 'The Plant Review' ('Two Sisters and a Twinflower', The Plant Review Vol. 5 (1), 2023, pp. 40-43). But...STILL am waiting to have this find & existence 'Properly Confirmed'...! And then until I last night happened to come across your small 'KZbin Video' about Lutobu... NEITHER I NOR SOME 20 'LEARNED BOTANISTS' HAD BEEN ABLE TO LOCATE THIS PLACE CALLED 'LUTOBU', GEOGRAPHICALLY - ! And so I got very excited and relieved to discover your Video and to know that you have actually yourself visited this 'Lutobu Village', down in Uganda, Mr. Liam,- and I now very much hope that you will be so kind as to contact me and help me "put Lutobu on the map"...and thus "help put me & all these botanists out of our misery", PLEASE !? And then just Best Greetings to You and Your Family from me & Denmark, God's Speed with Your Career & Travels, and Best Wishes for - - - A Fine British & Irish Summer, Over There ! Sincerely Yours Søren Støcker (Mr.) Provstebakken 10 A Bolbro DK-5200 Odense V DENMARK NB.: I gather from your 'Net-Info' that you are presently working with 'Plant Food',- and then I wonder whether you might know about this extraordinary 'Plant-of-the-Future', called Orychophragmus violaceus (or 'Chinese Violet Cress'), over there ? S.

Thank you, I really appreciate that! I self-taught video editing a few years ago and absolutely loved it, but had to put it to one side as I wasn't happy in life and I had to work hard to get myself in a better headspace. This trip to Africa has been fantastic so far and I've only made a few shorts from Uganda & Rwanda, but there are so many more on the way! This is just the beginning 💚

I have gone sailing in very hot clear-sky weather and had a short wetsuit on so there was one side of my skin that was normal and the other completely sunburned which made the skin sting and come off but then it got better in like a week so now I use sunscreen 🎉

I've been burned so bad while at sea in Zanzibar and it wasn't even sunny! If the conditions are perfect, it changes everything
@cameront57739 ай бұрын
Gotta reapply sunscreen every 2 hours and use more than most people do for maximum effectiveness. Just make sure you're religious about it or you'll be in for a real bad time lol

In my place there is a mix of UK honours system and a modified US GPA system (with a max of 4.3). My course is 4 years long. We got two GPAs, one for just course required modules and another for all modules (but mine is really similar in both) The cut offs are: (major only / overall) 1st - 3.6 / 3.4 2:1 - 2.85 / 2.7 2:2 - 2.15 / 2.0 3rd - 1.7 / 1.7 Both sides need to be met to obtain the class of honours. I started off at a very borderline 2:1 in my first term, but all modules will count in the degree classification in the end. The next three terms were steady at a mid 2:1, despite one screwed summer module, and for the most recent term I am looking at my highest ever term GPA if it goes well.

Huge thanks to Rob and Flo for the encouragement to get me editing again 💖 #bikepacking #cyclingafrica #uganda #kampala #decemberabroad #veganafrica

Thanks for the vlof Liam. I'm going to Monza in 2022 (hopefully). I was just wondering - when did your tickets get released? And were they difficult to purchase from the UK? Anxious as I have the whole trip booked except the tickets... any help much appreciated!

Thanks for watching Josh! We got ours from bookf1.com and was pretty easy to get them to the UK. Can't remember how long they took to arrive but we bought them in may for the September race so you're way ahead of us!

Thanks Phoebe! I was down at outside of T1 which is pretty good for seeing on track battles especially ones that continue after the chicane. Would've had a spectacular view of *that* incident this year too! Only thing is you don't see much of the straight leading up to the corner so any last-minute dive bombs happen so quickly it's easy to miss. But whereever you are I'm sure you'll love it!
