I think the explosion in HIIT research over the last 2 decades for heart and other medical patients drove most of the HIIT madness claiming its superior for everything. For some specific things HIIT does work better but increasing steady aerobic endurance is not one of them.

Shawn Thistle is so positive even when speaking about the issues he may come across. Always has a well informative and thoughtful reply to nah sayers. Makes him easy to listen to and someone to trust. Not too much complaining over and over again out of insecurity. FRC is amazing and so grateful for it.

That´s not the only source of problems in Medial Epycondilitis. Do your homework. Some therapists now call it "Pull-up Elbow". However, wrists, elbows, shoulders and lack of scapulothoracic and/or glenohumeral dissociation are only some of the sources of these problems.

This is the first time I have heard this podcast. I would have loved to hear more from Dr John, more about how to best integrate this information into a treatment plan with some examples. The venting was a bit much for my taste, if the naysayers got under your skin then present your argument not your gripes. Your subject matter is right down my alley, I will try a few more… time stamps would help.

Fantastic content. Thank you. Also, the "magic bracelet" trick is well known - there's a geometric trick outside of the temporary neurological effect (potentiation) following the isometric hold. Initial downward pressure of the arms is applied directly downward, further away from the subject's center of mass to create instability. After the external magical object is introduced, the "practitioner" applies downward force again, except the second time around does so imperceptibly slightly toward the feet - the stable center of mass of the subject, triangulating, and giving the illusion of strength - all credit to the magic bracelet! On sale now for $99 conveniently located at our merch table in the back of the room. Supplies are limited! Act now! "There's a sucker born every minute." - P.T. Barnum

Dr. Spina, if there isn't enough space in the joint for full function is the remedy surgery?

I never post on social media, but this simply is brilliant. Put clearly and concisely and highlights the appalling condition we’ve allowed are feet to degenerate through shoes and socks. I’m hoping, by following this advice, I will have fully functioning feet! Many thanks. 🙏🏼

So, IT band does in fact have variation where it inserts. It's not just "Gerdys tubercle" like the comment below claims. It can also be continuous with the femoraltibial ligament, lines aspera, knee cap, above the condyle of the femur as well, and blends into the fibular head as well. All of these happen with some variation. The point is that its a section of a continuous tissue like was stated in the video. So, it's kind of funny people would argue over something like this. They want it to obvious..."it's here!!". Thats now how it works.

You explained this so well. I've had lumbar fusion and osteoarthritis. I finally found a PT who seems to understand this. Instead of exercises and electrical stimulation they are helping me discover the actual muscles that support my spine and joints and to work on strengthening them by tightening and releasing. The sweet spot was when I could actually feel my abdominal/back muscle ( sorry IDK which one!) hug my lower spine and it felt good! Damned hard for me, as I tend to hold my breath and tighten all over, but I'm working on it. I've lived like this for 20 years, chronic pain from a work injury. This makes so much sense to me. Thank you!!

I now use this style of anterior adjusting technique but with a flat hand (for more comfort). Its great, very comfortable and most of the time just rolling over the hands makes it cavitate without having to thrust. Thanks mate for the video!
