Thank you! I would love to but I'm not an electronic engineer so I wouldn't be able to guarantee that it won't damage your Easel. Most features are passive but there are a few that aren't. I will redesign it in the future so that the front panel is pointing upwards and add a keyboard out banana socket. The latter could be useful since the Easel Command can receive MIDI notes and pass them through this output to other modules. It works fine with my 259. Note that this card only works on 208C (I'm powering stuff from the 5V pin which I don't think exists on older Easels).

Goodness, those knobs make the 259 look gorgeous (must admit, blue rogans are my least favourite knob). Brilliant sound also! Any further plans of future builds?
@TheTrackdriver2 ай бұрын
I don't like the rogans either. My goal with the modules I build is to match my Easel Command where it's possible. I use selco/sifam knobs and on this module I used the same colors on the caps and switches as on the Easel - red and green. I will build more modules but I have no idea which. Maybe another oscillator or perhaps more sound shaping tools such as the 296 although I find it a bit to overkill with 16 bands - 8 would have been enough for me.

I didn't use the audio from VHS in this video, only the rendered song from Ableton Live. I will try that out in the future. There are no volume controls or VU meters on the VCR so it will take some trial and error to get the optimal audio levels.@@happygolucky2231

this is great! I am wondering how did you set up the oooooo script? I am having trouble with feedback on mine whenever it starts to record. Did you have to change any settings?
@TheTrackdriver7 ай бұрын
What kind of feedback problem do you mean? Like a howling feedback loop? If yes it means the outgoing audio somehow is fed back into the input. I don't know how your setup looks like so it's difficult to give a more detailed answer.
@ewansvsdyslexior7 ай бұрын
@@TheTrackdriver yeah its more like a hiss that turns into a loud fuzzy blanket of ear crushing doom. Your right its something to do with how the input is being handled but it is within the program as it happens even from tape and with the output going just to headphones. The norns shield I am using is 210330 on a pi3b. Confusingly other scripts that record don't have the same issue. Thats why I am guessing it must be something in the settings of the script. Or I mucked up the soldering in a super specific way
@TheTrackdriver7 ай бұрын
@@ewansvsdyslexior I have been experimenting with the script today and tried different settings but don't get any feedback loop. Maybe you have "delaylaylay" mode selected? That mode created a feedback loop-ish noise. You can check the mode under PARAMETERS->EDIT and then scroll down to "choose mode". If it says "delaylaylay" you might have to use the maiden online editor and delete the "oooooo" folder to change it back to the default mode. I had to do it because the script kept going back to the delay mode no matter what I did.

Is your keystep controlling the norns at all here or connected to it?Any idea what woild be the best way to use norns with modular gear?I also have a keystep pro & beatstep pro.
@TheTrackdriver9 ай бұрын
No, the Keystep is only connected to the Blofeld. I do have a mini MIDI controller (8mu from Music Modular Thing) that I use with the Norns sometimes, not in this video though. Most scripts (if not all) have many MIDI mappable functions so the 8mu is quite handy when I need direct control. I haven't tried to use the Norns with modular gear yet. I mostly use looper scripts and generative MIDI scripts. I see the Keystep Pro have many CV outs so it should be possible to control modular gear from Norns via the Keystep. Monome also has their own eurorack module called the crow that integrates with Norns as a CV interface.

Hello! There is one important thing - the front surface of a cutter can be perpendicular to surface of disk. I made several records on home-made recorder and I found out this fact.The same effect exists in tape recorders when a gap of a magnetic head is not perpendicular to tape (when reproducing).What is about noise - I read in one old book thet metal cutter produce big noise and they recommended to use corundum or diamond.But it is too expensive...
@TheTrackdriver9 ай бұрын
