Of course, this is about the scenario of working with Mainstage in a music studio, not a live concert (because that's what Mainstage was created for). I know Logic pro, in which starting Multitimbral is time-consuming. Personally, I work on old, proven and German software from Steinberg (Nuendo). I'm looking for an alternative to V-Stack, which has not been supported for a long time (only 32-bit, so since Catalina it can't be installed on MacOS).

Thanks Jurgen, your videos are super helpful. I've been using the Kronos for years but there are still things that are not obvious to do or to find out about in the manual.

Hi! I have a question regarding mainstage. My band is getting ready to do some shows and plan to use mainstage for the keyboard parts. We are really beginners when it comes to this… So please explain like we’re 3 years old ;) we started today to add patches for each song in the setlist. Now we wonder, for example if one song has organ and strings in the riff and we created layers with both organ and strings to play at the same time, but in the verse it should only be organ. Is it possible to assign let’s say a pad on the keyboard that will ”mute” the strings when pressing it to play the verse with just the organ sounding and then hit the pad again for unmute when the chorus come in? Or must we use 2 keyboards? We only planned on using a 37 keys keyboard so it’s not optimal to split it. if you have any easy and cool ideas please let us know! We’re a duo so the keyboard will be played by a hired musician, But we want to get the setup ready to save him the time… looking forward to hear from you…and remember we’re dummies kind regards jojje/Introspektivet

I don't really understand. I have Cubase, and for live, I am loading as many channels as I need with different VSTi on them, and when I need a different sound, I switch channels, and that's it. Is MainStage gonna help me do this better than I already do?

When using the sliders on the Kronos to control the drawbars on the external Hammond B-3x software, the slide movement is backwards. When I pull the slider towards me (pulling the drawbar out) the drawbar on the software moves inward. It’s reversed. How do I correct this?

What version of Kontakt are you using?

This is good. Just in terms of learning to step program drums but also integrating the patterns into the sequencer. And also just learning hidden corners of the Kronos toolset. I enjoy your relaxed teaching style and will be looking at more of your vids.
