1. You did not escape from the destroyers because you need to roll a 6 to escape (you rolled a 4) since your speed has been reduced to one. 2. You have to deduct 75 VP because speed was down to one.

I was a 1980s tanker. Drones make me feel sooo obsolete, like if I was a Civil War soldier fighting Rommel. (or might as well be a chariot driver.) I guess the phrase "keyboard warrior" will pretty much describe most soldiers in years to come.

@@davidfinch7407 Many of the drone soldiers are in some crazy situations. They don't sit in a military base at a computer but need to go close to the front. They are considered extremely high value targets by the Russians and many die young. I have a few friends who do this, and I know the ordeals and horrible things they have been through. I feel like the phrase "keyboard warrior" to describe them is derogatory. I don't think that was what you meant, but I just felt like sharing my experience with these guys. Cheers!

The rulebook is bad for this game. For a turn, it says 4 hexes without contact ends the turn. But then E) Progress says to flip to the PM or AM next day. You could never get to 4 hexes by the rules as written. I think what they intended was that you end a turn when you move 4 hexes or you have combat. Also there are differences from the board and rules. Like the Torpedo damage for the British is in the rules, but not on the board. Poorly produced game. If you can figure it out, it's not a bad light game. But the rules are disappointing at best.
@jbx30001
@jbx30001 26 күн бұрын
Great video. I've ordered the game which should arrive soon I hope. From reading the rules it seems you hurt the Bismarck's chances for mission success. At 21:12 you rolled a 1 and were able to move 2 hexes. Since there was no contact you should roll again on the movement table until you've moved 4 hexes in total or there is contact. Also when the convoy is attacked near Bergen or Brest (air zone) add a +3 DRM on Main Gun attacks in favor of Bismarck & Prinz Eugen.

Random guy chiming in ... I understand the having too many games; I have spent the past 2 years rebooting my collection, and have sold off just under 500 games since Oct 2022 ... with plenty more to go! .... being much more judicious going forward. I do have a copy of this one, just sleeved it and getting my toes in. If you are curious about Napoleon, but not yet a Napoleon expert, I'd say this is perfect, esp if paired with excellent histories / biographies of Napoleon. I have his memoirs (they can be found online, public domain!), and hope this game can serve as a vehicle for deeper study. I used to know near nothing about the ACW, was allergic to it, ACW gaming turned me into an ACW nerd; Nappy gaming may do the same!

@jpotter2086 Wow! 500 games sold, damn that’s a huge collection just in sold games. I haven’t really dipped my toes into ACW because the amount of counters and setup intimidate me. The games seem too complex for me.

Books, movies, games are my things... music and books are my brothers ... dad was into coins and cards and trains .... yeesh. Wargames can be a lot. Look into digital options? If interested in ACW, there's an oldie from 1998 that I STILL play, even tho I learned how to "game" it 20yrs ago. Robert E. Lee: Civil War Generals II, available on GoG I think ...
