10/10 songs. They always remain difficult to listen to compared to their bangers. Just waves of emotions to go through with Wings for Marie 1 and 2. Perhaps that is why most people dont view the 10000 Days album as top tier, but I feel like its right up there Lateralus and Aenima. Quintessential Tool.

P.S. The next Tool song you should hear is either the Salival version of "Pushit" or the cover of the Led Zeppelin live version of "No Quarter". They're a double-sided coin. 💜

Hey, Momma. Delighted you had all the backstory of the song. It does add depth. Also greatly appreciate the list of Tool songs you're familiar with. Now I know which ones to throw your way. (The numbers they bring in don't hurt either.) Re: "Judith" v. "Marie", I've heard Maynard say, "If you can't get your sh*t out with one song, go get help." For me, it seems his issue was more with the people surrounding his mother than his own feelings, but that's the beauty of interpretation. We pick out what's important to us. Maynard has a way of being all of us. Re; drummers. Now that Peart's gone, Carey wears the crown. One day, should we be afforded a private conversation, I'll tell you my "Wings" story. And just like the song, another epic reaction! Thanks, Momma!

What a wonderful, thoughtful reaction. A few Tori songs she did not cover for the Carpenter's are "Georgia On My Mind:" a cover to commemorate Ray Charles and "It's Impossible" cover sung originally by Perry Como -- in which Tori sings along with Dan Westley toward the ending of the cover -- who is a gifted musician/artist in his own right. Otherwise, Joe hit the nail on the head 🙂 May you recover fully and quickly !!! Take good care, M. PS - She also does a great Olivia Newton-John short cover of "Sam" along with another collaboration with Dan Westley "Suddenly" again with Olivia's higher wispy register - showing that Tori can really hit those low tones as well as high. Ann everything in between with her beautiful vibrato.

Momma, you're putting way too much emphasis on your boo-boo. Believe me, you offer plenty of distraction. I think it looks worse to you than it does to us. From here, it doesn't even look like a band-aid. This lady did a fine job on the song. She really sounds like KC. You can really hear her singing it. My fellows clown me, but I dig a good Carpenters tune, and weren't they all good? Especially at holiday time. Good stuff!

Hi Momma! Beautiful reaction!❤ What you are going to hear on originals is Tori not adding Karen inflections. The comments always say they hear Karen. Well, in Suddenly she used her higher register so that was more mitigated. Her tone is very close. I don’t think it’s a bad thing. She can sing THOSE classic songs and do them justice. I held back a spoiler. If you click through my ID here, you can see the video I recorded at the church (where Karen had her final service) with all the boominess and things falling and coughing. This is why she needed to fix it. She finally gave herself Producer credit for this one. Richly deserved. She did all the backing vocals and arranging modifications. She tried to sync some of the video but that wasn’t the purpose. She also changed the ending and to me, improved it. She sang the OG version in the church. This song still gives me goosebumps as I know the history for so long. This is as close as we get. Another singer, older than Tori and from the UK has a deep voice and can sing Carpenters songs is Harriet. I’ll let Perfect Blend introduce you to her is she’d like to? PB!? 😊 In the next batch we have two more Carpenters songs and her first original from last year Christmas time. I haven’t queued Georgia On My Mind as she sounds NOTHING like Ray but guess who the comments say she sounds like 🤷🏻♂️. Maybe another of Tori’s Troops will offer that up? 😃 My mom went through a spinal fusion, before me. She told me stories of being in a body cast for a long time, immobile. I’m so happy to see you up and music-ing. ❤ Heal quickly!🙏 Thanks again and I’m chillin’ until the next one. Joe

The lyrics seem to paint a picture of a particular incident in an abusive relationship where the speaker's partner lost control in a fit of rage resulting in the death of the speaker, possibly by being pushed out of a window. This is not the first time that Aurora has written lyrics from the perspective of a dead person/ghost. I feel that the speaker's scattered memories and admission of being unable to fully recollect the incident speak of the trauma of what happened to her.

In terms of era when I first saw the video with the orchestration included I thought it sounded like the love theme from a Roger Moore era bond film. Perhaps the bond theme that Karen Carpenter neer got to make. :)
