Great video and yes, people are gouging for these parts! I refuse to pay that much for those pieces, especially when there are other options that work just as fine. There are a few combinations you can use. I have 3 Datsuns with KA's and they all have different combos. The only thing that is common on my conversions is that I use the Datsun L series top alt. bracket. If the top L series bracket has a bend on it, you might need to straiten it out. I know I did. For the bottom brackets (bolted to the side of the block), you can use one from a 720 or D21, or from a 89-90 KA. For the belt, I used a 3 rib 365 (Continental 4030365), but you can use shorter or longer length belts (Roger is using a 350). I bought the short thermostat housing from Nissan (13049-40F00) or you can get it at Amazon (made by Dorman 902-5004). My first KA actually has the original tall thermostat housing and it barely clears the belt. Hope this helps and works for you.

Hey, just came across your channel, interested in following this build so I subscribed. I've got a ka24de and most everything I need to drop it into my 620. I haven't had the chance to run through your other vids yet but what are you planning to do for wiring? Will you go the CAN/AM wiring box route? Or wire yourself with a few relays? Also OEM harness? Cheers
@240RBZ4 ай бұрын
Wiring specialties harness with added fuses & relays. Send me a message on Instagram and I’ll get you connected with the guy that’ll make the harness plug and play

Roger I get what you feel. This is no disrespect, but I clicked on the video (first time) to see the cars at the event. What I got was 6 seconds of cars and a whole lot of you walking through. The voice overs are cool, but I think if the primary focus would be to show the vehicles and talk about them and you would get more looks from all over. I'm in SoCal but originally from the Bay Area. I own a 521 and a roadster. So put your camera crew to work showing us the cars. You would fill up hecka content with the vehicles on display. You may have seen everything there but your new viewers haven't seen anything but you up close. There were cars with the hoods open and showing and that is what we want to see. That is how a new pop-in viewer will take a look and the main thing...come back again and sub to continue to get the content. You have the foundation just build it up. Take care and good luck.

Appreciate the feedback, this video was more to explain why I’m no longer hosting event as much as before. Next event video I’ll go back to showing all the cars. Stay tuned!

Roger, you do what you want to do. I know the feeling of being the only Z in a sea of other car types and marquees. The JDM scene is what I like though but there just isn't enough events yet but I feel that is changing. These cars were so disrespected for so long by the OG crowd, aka muscle car, Porsche etc. Their time is coming though. Look forward to seeing your future content.

Aye, when you had this step up, how was the brake bias. Did it feel even brake pressure or more in front compared to the rear?
@240RBZ5 ай бұрын
More front than rear but it’s not that affected. You can run stock booster with out an issue

@240RBZ Thank you for the feedback. I'm going to run this setup on my 240z running a small block Chevy 350. Just that I'm going to upgrade the master cylinder from a 280zx or Wilwood and probably go with mild to aggressive rear brake pads. I'll probably also modify the bracket to get the e-brake to work.

Thanks for posting this bro, very helpful. One thing different I tried when I did mine: Remove the cotter pin & castellated nut from the ball joint Reinstall and tighten the 2 bolts that connect the steering knuckle to the strut A pickle fork tapped with a 2 pound hammer between the ball joint and the strut makes life real easy. Later.
