Dude, amazing work on the video. The cinematography of the underwater shots remind me of the blue planet specials I loved watching as a kid, I would not be surprised if you told me you were a cameraman for the discovery channel or something. Plus the whole presentation was put together very well, no ten minute monologue or needless filler, just the setup and then the underwater shots. And thanks for showcasing such a beautiful habitat, I just moved to the area from south Florida and I had no idea about that spring. I'm definitely going to be paddling up there to check it out when I can. By the way it's funny how you wanted to hit 1k by 2025 and you've already surpassed it, congrats!

Chicken shit it’s not a swamp, if you were from Florida you’d know where big aggressive gators are… Lakes and swamps not cold spring fed rivers, the one he saw was small and harmless.

8 minutes of "content" before he actually gets in the water.
@josephrickettsphoto19 сағат бұрын
Ya it actually takes a lot of work/effort to prep and get out there and I'm trying to show the whole process. I could be a little more concise, that's fair, but the goal is to take the audience along for the experience. My guess is some folks enjoy that part, but guess I'll find out as I go along
@mopardude8248 сағат бұрын
@@josephrickettsphoto I respect your reply and your understanding for constructive criticism. All I'm saying is that these days there is way too many videos out there where the first half of the video is someone talking into a GoPro. I was speaking with a friend about this today and he informed me that there is a "ad blocker" that will skip ahead through the forementioned GoPro part and go straight to the desired content. So it seems I'm not the only one that feels this way. I'm not saying your video wasn't cool, because it was... but 8 minutes of you pushing a kayak around is not what I clicked on. Catch my drift? No pun intended. Well, maybe a little bit.

I'll be moving to Florida soon and really want to start snorkeling more. Do you have tips for doing that safely in Florida? As I'm a bit worried about alligators.
@josephrickettsphotoКүн бұрын
In FL it is definitely important to treat all freshwater with respect as alligators could always be present. That being said, there are certain designated swimming areas where it is less likely to encounter them (but still possible). A handful of the freshwater springs are good places to start snorkeling. Check out www.floridaspringsinstitute.org for tips on places to visit. Also, as someone moving to FL it's important to remember that alligators are a part of the natural environment and you kinda need to embrace that if you are going to live here. It's always cool to see them in the wild!
