Do you feel like there’s a “whistle” coming from around the dryer vent area? I got mine installed today and came looking to see if it’s normal and found your video…. I feel like I can hear a whistle in your video, but want to see if that’s what you’d describe it as.
@migbham17 күн бұрын
Hi there, and congratulations on your new appliance! Thanks for watching my video and taking time to ask a question. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "dryer vent area." Assuming you and I both have the same GE Ultrafast all in one, the appliance is ventless, so there isn't a vent area. I wonder whether you might be taking about the slot where the filter is inserted?

I just bought this beast of a machine But I have a disability and I just fractured my hip, and my new house only has a cupboard for my laundry space. And I couldn’t get a stackable unit because I can’t get up onto a stool for balance issues or reach over my head. I saw this Appliances at Home Depot in Canada and did a lot of research before I took the plunge in buying it. I bought it on sale for Christmas at $2,799.00 in Canada and it Retails here for over $3,899.00 + 13 % taxes. And I bought at Canadian Appliance Source because they had the best prices around and I bought 3 other appliances with this one. And GE Appliances have been around for years and years. And don’t require as must service call as other Appliances do.

@@darleneelvidge6380 Congratulations on your new powerhouse of a laundry center! Have been running mine at least twice daily for almost two years now, and I love it even more than when it was brand new! We traveled to family's homes during the holidays and I'd forgotten how wretched it is to have to remember to move the wet laundry from the washer to the dryer. 😊 I think you'll love your new machine! Just be super fastidious about keeping the lint filter clean. I wound up buying a kit from a KZbinr that has successfully addressed a design issue with the filter as GE designed it. You may want to search that up on KZbin. The included filter does, over time, allow small amounts of lint to get past the filter and into the fins of the heat exchanger, which will cause diminished drying performance over time. The upgrade kit is basically a few pieces of stick on seal that go around the edges of the filter frame and a much upgraded filter piece to stick on the back to replace the Grey foam that comes with the unit. It took five minutes to install and works perfectly. Sending wishes as we finish up 2024 that your hip heals nicely and that you're back to normal and pain free very soon. I just spent a week in Nashville, TN, taking care of my "baby" sister (who is 48 years old) as she recovered from having hip surgery. Congrats again on your new machine. You'll love it, and it will love you! Your power bill should decrease noticably, as well! 😘

Hi there. Indeed, I have, thanks to a smart owner who was generous enough to share his design and sell me the kit. Have been running with the modified lint filter for close to a year and have had no visible buildup anywhere it's not supposed to be, and certainly nowhere on the heat exchanger.

@migbham1Ай бұрын
What causes you to perceive that it isn't working, I wonder? If you look closely at the liquid, you'll notice that the top tank empties and the bottom tank fills. The only path for the water to take to get to the bottom resorvoir is through the sinus, which means that it is working. That said, my sinuses seem incompatible. The water won't go through. My partner, however (who is shown in this video) is able to use it without any issues.

@@Mishu657 Hi there. I'm not sure I'm seeing what you're talking about. There are no scratches on the glass at all. If you're talking about the black marks you see around the edges, especially at about eleven o'clock if the door was a clock, those aren't scratches. The door has a shiny, metallic mirrored finish around the outside edge, and there are reflections showing up that might look like black scratches to you. Is this the spot you're seeing?

A year a two months later, and I still LOVE the machine. It still works every bit as good as it did when it was new, with one caveat. Do a bit of searching on here for "GE Ultrafast Combo Lint Filter Mod." The stock lint filter does, indeed, allow lint to pass and begin to accumulate on the fins of the heat exchanger. There's a guy here on KZbin who has solved that problem, and he sells a kit that takes ten minutes to install and completely eliminates the issue, making the machine perfect. Folks who don't make this modification probably will wind up with diminished drying performance. I'll be surprised if GE doesn't implement something very similar on their next model, but with this small lint filter enhancement, the machine is just fantastic.

I've had one of these for nearly a year. The only problem I've ever had is that when you throw a couple of towels in with other wash and do not use the towel mode, they do come out pretty damp. But really no complaints. It did resolve three issues for me: 1) Using less water-This is an older house and the drain would not keep up with the old top load washer. (previous owner sent it to a sink instead of a drain pipe.) The water-use reduction of a modern machine resolved that issue. 2) I'm re-doing the wiring and saved quite a bit by not having to run 30 Amps to a dryer. I did use a 20 Amp circuit and 10 Gauge for it, but doubt that I really needed to. 3) Ventless... It is not on an exterior wall, so the venting was real "rube" arrangement. Ventless...the moisture is condensed and sent to the drain, if you are wondering how. I feel like these three items saved me at least 1K in renovation expenses. But if you are trying to do 6 loads or more a day, it's not for you. You need 3 hours per load. But if you are doing 6 loads a week, you'll love it.

I've had mine for over a year now and it works great. After every load I clean the lint filter and leave it out until the next load. I leave the washers door open so there is no chance of musty smells. Also routinely check the pump filter located in the front bottom. If this gets plugged it will effect your drying time.

Even after the W/D cycle and adding another 45 minutes to the dry time . . . fail. GE Cares fighting tooth and nail to NOT issue an RA #. Regardless of outcome I will NOT be going with GE due to horrible post sales support. How many of you have 4 days of PTO to give up while tech guess at issues?

@migbham19 ай бұрын
Indeed. About four times too much. This was an early load, and because it was towels, I decided to use powdered Persil instead of the auto-dispense liquid. Got so focused on making the video that I neglected to turn off the auto-dispense, which was set on high. I wound up taking these through two more cycles with zero detergent, adding distilled vinegar to the first additional cycle to get all of the detergent out. Epic fail. These days, when I use the auto-dispense, I have it set at "less." Our water is a touch on the softer side, so it doesn't take much. I really prefer powder, but my experience with this machine is that the powder makes a bit of a mess in the detergent drawer.
