Can someone tell me what this machine is worth in 2024 if it’s used in “like new” condition? Someone near me is selling one, and I’d love to buy it if it’s worth it. Thank you!

It might seem like talking about this machine is out of date as it's older, but I don't buy new (cannot afford it.) Anyway, we have a used HV 870Q and wish your video was higher res. Still, it's been helpful, and your voice over instructions as you go are quite professional and clear.

I want to make a pleated curtain to put on my shelf. I was to ruffle it, and then from and inch down i was to add a piece of material to lay on the she instead of stapling or tacking it down. Can this be done? I am limited on the scraps i want to use. I have 2 pieces of 144 inches and 12-14 inches long. This is the idea I have but not sure it will work. Please advise. Thanks

Great clear video. A bit of additional information would be how to handle the fabric when you get to seams.

For thread number one did you put it in the right needle or left one?
@persikosaft23 күн бұрын
Left. The second thread that doesn't go through the thread guide above the needle ends up more to the right so it's clearer when you are doing the threading yourself 🙂

I have the Sapphire 875Q. It my 1st time using twin needles. I threaded fine and it sews fine. But it “tunnels” like it’s too tight. Looks like it want to sort of pin tuck. Everything I’ve looked up says to adjust the tension. This machine is automatic. I’m just trying to repair some pajama pants. While not breaking the needles. I got 6.0 needles because that’s how far apart the original seam is. Set fine but just too tight. Help.

I know this video was a long time ago but I’m hoping someone knows what to do. It’s my 1st time using twin needles. Threaded them fine but when I sew it “tunnels” like it’s too tight. I have the Sapphire 875. You can’t adjust the tension, it’s automatic. Just trying to figure it out without breaking the needles. Thanks!

I'm no expert and I know this comment is old, but from what I've heard this can happen with close-set twin needles. Have you tried to stabilize the fabric? I love using wonder tape (Prym brand), a water soluble double sided tape, it's like an interfacing that washes off 🙂 Otherwise maybe try a wider twin needle?

What free motion foot fits on this machine. I've checked on Amazon and not sure. I know it's a low shank?

I liked this overview as well, but you could not see the stitches on anything. Wondering if this machine has automatic walking foot?

I appreciate the effort, but have you bothered watching your own video before posting it? Every time you show us a stitch on your actual material, you can't see squat.

I understand that this is a very old video but I'm hoping you see this. I have the opportunity to pick one of these up for $1000. I'm also looking at a pfaff ambition 620 or a janome s3. I sew intimates at home and love the idea of the auto thread tension as working with lace can be tricky and going from lace to sewing underwire channeling and forgetting to change the thread tension is a nightmare. Would you have a recommendation for me? There are SO MANY options out there!

I would appreciate that if you use a light, lighter, or light patterned fabric that you use a dark, darker or black thread. Conversely if you use a dark or darker fabric use a light (pink in this case) or white thread. Demonstrates better over video. Besides newbies to sewing let alone this machine can see & understand better. The last time I sewed machines were manual. I do not understand everything you are demonstrating. Yet being able to see your stitching could help. Thank you so much. :)

I have the flat hem foot and have tried repeatedly to do a hem on a light brocade fabric, it is NOT working. So, I take it the best fabrics are cotton!? I'm trying to do a flat hem on a pocket square to match the tie I made which is also brocade.

Have just found your video, and did not know this method for quilting existed. A question I have is this: do you transfer the design before you put the quilt sandwich together or after it is pinned if you want to use this method to quilt your quilt. I hope I am making this clear. I am so excited about seeing this technique, as I love quilting my quilts, but cannot seem to master free motion quilting and stitch in the ditch technique is not terribly exciting for some quilts. Many thanks for your clear, concise and informative tutorial.
