I have a coding and billing background but primarily in ICD-9. I went back and completed a certification course for ICD-10 in 2023.

Great information. I work remotely now in DFW and my course will be done in a couple of weeks. I plan on transitioning into my new role with my current employer but it's always good to have a backup plan❤😊

Would you mind doing a segment on how to, as well as how you have gone about negotiating your salaries? You also mentioned a counteroffer letter. I've never thought of that. We all know we are worth more but it can be so difficult to not only convey that but to also do it effectively, with confidence. If you are able to find the time, it would be so greatly appreciated. Studying HCC now in my RHIA program. Iyo, will facilities respect the credential for HCC as well or should one get the CRC credential as well?

I have a question regarding applying for the first time as a medical coder, when there has been a large career gap and especially, and particular a low credit score due to absent employment. I'm particularly concerned about credit checks, as it happened to someone, yet, they were in a different career altogether. Would a temp agency be the best way to access employment, thus building credit?

Its crazy because I worked for a big hospital in California doing RA medical record processing and then I graduated College, but am not happy with my current status and have been thinking about learning more about the coding industry because I love the remote hybrid positions I see online and I remember working next to coders when I worked in the Medical Records office. Hi Ms. Laquita. I appreciate this information. I have a CBCS certification. I've held this certification since March 2024. It's been really hard to find a job. I don't see companies asking for a CBCS certification. So, I decided to enroll in classes to attain my CPC certification. Have you heard of the CBCS certification?

I do have Training, missed my CPC by 4 pts but it's been 10!years. Ive worked Prior Auth have'24 coding books to restudy, would Love to get a job in field.

Hi Quita. I’m a great fan of yours in all you do to update Medical Coders. I was fade up with searching and applying for an Entry level position with my CCA AHIMA and no success even up to asking for apprenticeship with no pay just to keep my skill current. Unfortunately l decided to let the certification expire on me. In this case, can I still apply for these new opportunities you just posted?. I hope to hear from you. Thanks and much love ❤.
