Hello Everyone! This video is really intended for those of you who already have some medical coding knowledge. I will have a shorter video coming up including more detail. Please review the Description Box for timestamps for each section of the video. The video is long, but if you're new to RA it's worth watching. There are so many nuances to RA coding that cannot fit in 1 video. We will work our way up to more difficulty. All seasoned coders once started medical coding with no knowledge and we grew in knowledge with study and practice. Please note that many employers provide an encoder to their employees to use in place or in addition to their book. I hardly use my book anymore due to having encoder. I must mention that when using the HCC model search for the codes w/o periods. For example: search for CAD this way "I2510" opposed to "I25.10". Furthermore, what would you like to see in future videos? Thanks!

Congratulations! Will this be your 1st coding job or transition from CPT?

@@Ms.Laquita thanks! it will be my first. Regarding I25.10. I'm confused. Does it only risk adjust because of Rx Hcc?

Yes, under the V08 column.

Do you know any companies or staff agencies for health care professionals that hire new medical coders. I have my RHIT and CCS-P credentials. Idk if I even should keep pursuing that. I have a job in healthcare but idk if I should continue to seek coding dream job 😢
@Ms.LaquitaАй бұрын
There are plenty that hire new coders, but I don't know any off the top of my head. Someone said Judge Group and HCA, but I don't know for myself if it's true. I applied everywhere in my search even if I felt like I didn't qualify to apply.

@@Ms.Laquita Ty!! Il continue applying. I apply anyway but some automatically get rejected when I put no experience. And I don’t know if I should put yes just to bypass. I don’t want to look unethical. Il keep trying. Il look into those. I been praying specifically that there is a high demand for medical coders to the point that Organizations are more willing to hire new coders! In the name of Jesus

Trust me if your not honest they will find out. I once spoke with a recruiter who stated that had to ask me vetting questions to show I'm honest. She said she didn't want to offend me, but she had plenty of cases of passing coders to the hiring manager who lied about having experience.
