My 701 clutch slip but only in higher gears - I don't understand why. It has an Oberon slave, new OEM clutch plates, stiffer springs, and has been bled professionally a few times (which will fix it temporarily). Could it be that little screw in your 2nd example?
@meoffjack3 күн бұрын
Doubt but you can try tightening it. Maybe the new clutch plates are not as thick and the cage with springs cannot put enough pressure on them. I don't know your Oberon slave but that's the only thing I can think of right now. Maybe the clutch plates are still too "slick" or something like that or maybe that slave cylinder slightly pushes more on the rod.. Who knows.... I guess you would need to open the clutch cover and really pay attention to all the stuff you installed and check and measure everything. As soon as you use non OEM stuff, you absolutely have to make sure the stuff works together as intended. That only applies to a correctly installed clutch system. I suppose every clutch plate, washer etc. was installed as the manual told you.

Hello, perhaps you have heard about Dave Moss front fork mt07 tuning, if so, what do you think about it? 1) cut the spacer by 10mm 2) 15w oil 3) lower the front by 8mm. Thank you!
@meoffjackАй бұрын
What do you want to achieve with that? How much do you weigh? What model year of MT-07 do you have? If you need a harder setup just put different springs in it.
@alexoskin1531Ай бұрын
@@meoffjack My weight is 85 kg, motorcycle mt 07, 2019 release. I don't have any requirements for the front suspension. In his videos, Dave says that the front suspension of this bike has design flaws. The solution is as follows: 1. Cut the spacers to 140mm instead of the stock 150mm 2. Change fork oil to 15w (stock 10w) 3. Set the forks 8mm up Thank you for your feedback!
@meoffjackАй бұрын
@@alexoskin1531 You are heavier than what the stock suspension was built for so you would need springs with a higher spring rate and possibly fork oil which is a little more viscous. I don't see why you should reduce the length of the spacer which would make your current set up softer and lowering the front should do what? You slightly reduce wheel base with that which makes the bike more "twitchy" but also more unstable at higher speeds.. When you don't have any requirements on your suspension then leave it alone. If you don't bottom out and you can ride fine otherwise, you don't need to do anything. If you want a harder/sportier setup get different springs and put the recommended oil and correct oil volume in your forks and leave the rest alone, Yamaha engineers are not dumb. Dave Moss is a knobhead trying to make money through "fixing" things that don't need fixing. Don't just do things some stranger on the net is doing to his or his "clients" bikes. If you race that MT-07 on the track than get it to a professional workshop with racing experience, they can tell you what they can do to improve that suspension for your weight and needs. If you are riding just on the street then forget what this guy is telling in his videos. If your bike rides fine, leave it the fuck alone. The stock suspension and even setup is fine for 99% of the people buying their bikes.

@meoffjackАй бұрын
If you have no device or tool to hold the damper in place while undoing the bolt, the damper will rotate with the bolt and you won't get it out. You can use different things trying to hold the damper in place like a square metal rod the right size or you use an impact driver that should work too. Sometimes you don't need a tool at all and the bolt will come out easily but I had enough "stuck" bolts so better prepare for one than have everything disassembled and you get desperate trying to get it out and destroy something... I cleaned with normal break cleaner, most effective way to get rid of all the old oil... 😁😁👍👍

I am having an issue now that is cold weather. I start the bike and it wants to go forward even with clutch in, and it shuts down when i put it in gear. After it is all warmed up, like 15 min after, this issue disappears. I added some fluid on the clutch lever but looks like it still is a little weird. The issue looks more like your second video but when i am stationary or first gear minimal km/h. Husky 701 2020 SM, 20k km
@meoffjackАй бұрын
Difficult to nail that down. Could also be the slightly thiccer oil when engine is cold giving the clutch plates too much friction and they stick. Otherwise clutch doesn't disengage fully for whatever reason.

What you need for street riding is shorter suspension travel and stiffer setting.
