Scientists can easily determine what our ancient human ancestors ate by doing Isotope Analysis of the carbon and nitrogen isotopes using mass spectrometry to reconstruct diet. Oxygen, strontium, hydrogen, sulphur and zinc isotopes too. These tests reveal that our human ancestors ate mostly PLANT Matter! They were NOT Carnivores! The whole Paleo diet narrative is a MYTH! Fantasy, wishful thinking on the parts of keto and carnivore influencers.

Keto Guru Dr. Mercola has raked in over $100,000,000 in personal net fortune off of keto selling his books, courses, keto friendly snacks and supplements. He now days his keto diet ruined his health! ‘Carnivore MD’ Paul Saladino, author of ‘Cracking the Carnivore Code’ has quit his carnivore diet because it made him feel terrible! Decreased testosterone, poor sleep, muscle cramps, constipation…, He now says being in ketosis probably isn’t good for most people!

What do you do on really cloudy mornings? Is there still a benefit to going out? I am assuming you don't go out in the rain.
@HolisticHilda26 күн бұрын
I DO go out in the rain. The sun's rays reach us regardless. There is absolutely a benefit to getting out there every day, rain or shine. Try it for 2 weeks and see how it goes! 😃

@HolisticHilda Okay wow so I have given this a go by sitting in a chair with my bare feet on the ground to get my morning sun. Since it's been summer in Georgia, I've been wearing a swim suit or tank and shorts to optimize exposure. What do you do in the rain and cold?

@OnceWildNowFree29 күн бұрын
Organic is extremely relevant. Herbicides and pesticides are toxic to humans, let alone animals and plants.
@HolisticHilda27 күн бұрын
This is debatable, I think. There are so many harmful pesticides and herbicides that leave residues on most conventional foods that compromise our health. Glyphosate is the first ingredient that comes to mind! It's the main ingredient in Round Up and compromises gut health and has been found to be a known carcinogenic. It's one reason I choose organic. 🙂

Vitamin D and being outside in nature. It’s been known how powerful being in nature can heal. 😊 Living in artificial worlds such as spending so much time indoors or in concrete jungles have a lot of negative consequences. To all the naysayers about saying being exposed to the sun causes cancer, why then when our ancestors spent the majority of their time in the sun did they not have rates of skin cancer? 🤔 Blessings, Linda

Excellent points! We need more natural light and less artificial. That's how our ancestors lived!

Wow! This is fascinating and amazing! I want more long mouse nights 😉 I would love to learn tricks for getting more sleep. I wake up just before sunrise and try to get 8 hours of sleep. I just don’t sleep as soundly as I’d like.
@HolisticHilda3 ай бұрын
Here's a simple tip: avoid screens 1-2 hours before bed. A friend of mine started doing this recently and she said she hadn't slept so soundly in MONTHS! (Many don't realize that tv, laptops, and phones emit blue light at night that interferes with our sleep!) Hope this helps! 🥰

OK i agree with not pathologizing but a lot of children’s behavior in the modern age is not acceptable, schools tell us all the time that they can barely teach because so much time is taken up just regulating the kids, I was a volunteer catechist in my parish for three years and several of the children (especially boys) were openly and willfully defiant and disrespectful. I’m not just talking about a little hyper or spacing out. I didn’t even force them to sit down the whole time, I let them fidget and would give them free time to draw or s/t at the end, and they still behaved in completely inappropriate ways for a classroom, throwing things around, calling out and interrupting, teasing each other, they would be on the floor, etc. I do feel bad to a degree because I think children spend too much time stuck indoors these days and they’re fed processed snacks that are basically poison, but children also need some level of discipline and they’re just not getting it.
@HolisticHilda2 ай бұрын
You've been in the trenches and I think your observations are fair. I wonder about the impact of screen time and the lack of loving touch/connection is also negatively impacting them. There's so much at play! It's not about just letting boys do whatever they like without guidance or boundaries. They need our leadership and love, too. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 🙏

I totally understand your reasoning and I myself apply this reasoning to MANY different aspects in life, but you have to understand that it's not ALWAYS a good rule of thumb to go by. Simple example: elite sports coaches have often never played the sport at an elite level themselves. My rule of thumb: Determine if someone's advice is verifiable or purely opinion based. If it's the first, listen to the WORDS not the PERSON. If it's the latter, listen to the PERSON not the WORDS.
