Thanks for sharing this video! It was awesome to see 3 boats that my fiance custom built or rebuilt.. the orange and red Donzi and yellow Fountain... I wasn't crazy about the orange and black, being from Eastern NC and seeing blues and green all the time, but the orange looked amazing out there! If your relationship can withstand a custom boat build, it can withstand just about anything!😂

Bought a brand new 26vr back in 2015. Lot of structural defects. Delaminating, rusting hardware, gel coat popping off. And they wouldn’t even take a look at it. Velocity is not the way to go if your look to spend big $ on a boat. Better off look at Glasstron or Concepts. Boat of the caliber.

2015 was near the end of the old ownership at Velocity. Sorry to here of your issues. Scott McCormick purchased Velocity after that time period and is building top quality performance boats with no lamination or other issues that you unfortunately experienced. The hull design and quality has been taken to the next level with Scott at the helm. His reputation is top notch and is always available to help any Velocity owner even if he did not build the boat.

I think the old windshield looks a lot better. Also that new windshield looks so low that even when you sit down, you are looking over it instead of through it. This will also result in you getting pummelled by wind when you stand in the bolsters. From an actual drivers perspective, the older tall mid 2000’s windshield made for a great actual driver more than a trailer queen only suitable for calm warm days. To me that design looks like there is no protection for the elements to duck down behind in cooler or wet days. Not a fan and it kinda looks like the windshield from an early 90’s RC boat.

I agree on the windshield. The old stainless windshield frame gave Fountains (as well as my Formula Fastech) a look of quality and strength. The frameless windshield looks cheap.

Completely redesigned, Mercury came out with new motors a few years ago. And we have, I dunno, a finish engine bay. Goodness, bankers can't build boats. Thanks Reggie, too bad these clowns have no clue where to go with it.

The fountain 47 has always been my favorite boat. I love the new features but it’s hardly a redesign, just a facelift and some updates. Still my favorite

Did I understand that correctly? One engine is rated at 1350 HP and the other at 1550 HP?

No same power both motors 1350/1550 flip a switch to go from 1350 to 1550HP. then change the fuel from 91-93 over to race gas for the 1550 setting. Not sure abt rating but 105-108 octane should keep the engines safe.

@@dieseldog00 you’re right Everett, but they have two smaller fuel tanks I believe around 80 gallons. That’s fuel for your 1,550 should you need it when a Cig trues to pass you, you flip over to the race fuel. The big tanks will need at least 93 octane for your daily cruising. A pain because you need to get to a speed shop for the race fuel, if you want just a bit more of a kick you can buy oxygenated fuel that extra oxygen will help with a cleaner burn. Not trying to correct you sir, I’m an ex drag racer and know my fuels. If I hit the lottery there will be one in my driveway. Cheers.

@@enginepy I agree he was not on his game. The big boys might let him go if they watch this video. Speaking of Fountain videos, watch the SpeedracerZ videos of that boat doing poker runs in Sweden and one they did going to Finland. That boat has 3x1350s in it and there weren't any boats I saw that could stay with it except for one other 47 and even that one couldn't when SpeedracerZ really dropped the hammer. (BTW don't even ask their top speed they won't say.)
