New here. I had no idea parrots' beaks grow continuously! But I guess that holds true for many animals. The parts they use the most are evolved to replenish themselves. Thanks for caring for this beautiful bird!

This video is so informative and interesting, and you are so good at narrating. I was really focused the entire time. When I went back to see a before and after of Paco, I was shocked. I'm so glad I saw this and thankful that bird got to be cared by someone as skilled, passionate and gentle as you. I especially loved the part where you preened him, he looked so sweet.

I never knew you could do that with Birds beaks.😮 I thought it was like human teeth where you would have to replace it completely.😅

We have two cockatiels. They own our house. We tried training them for free flight but were unsuccessful. They are harness trained and go on walks with us. They are well loved and well taken care of but that being said one of the conclusions our family has come to is that they should be in a giant flock flying in the skies of Australia. Birds shouldn't be caged. Our birds have the freedom to enter and leave their cage wherever they want. We've never locked them up. They see it as their nest. But it's still a cage and outside of that our house is just a bigger cage. And no matter how hard we try we'll never be able to give them the kind of real freedom to fly that every bird on earth deserves to have. Now think about the millions of birds kept alone and locked in a small cage 24/7. Birds are smart. There is a reason so many have mental problems like feather plucking.

Taking care of birds is a lot more involved than a requirement of just living alone. It’s almost a lifelong commitment depending on the species. Imagine having a child but they never move out for the rest of your life, that’s the amount of care they need. If you’re cool with that then that’s awesome. I hope you become a happy bird parent. 😊 I’m not a pet owner I just learned bird facts from Jaiden Animations videos on her birds.

I'd be very suspicious of the owner mistreating that bird. Birds are smart and are usually aggressive to certain people for a reason. Unless the bird is overall unfriendly towards people to begin with.
@user-xsn5ozskwg

Since he's suffering from signs of neglect and was recently inherited I'd actually guess that his current owners weren't the ones mistreating him, but spent enough time around the person who was to be recognised as unfriendly. Hopefully they've been showing him lots of love and he's been able to feel safe around them.

Our old budgie had a problem with grinding his neck down so I learned from the vet how to trim it. One time he jerked just as I was clipping, getting it just short enough for him to bleed. He was not happy when I forced him to all but dunk his face in corn starch. Had to keep an eye on him to make sure it wasn’t bleed more after that while I tried to figure out where I could take him to if it did. He passed away a while ago, we think old age as they were rescues of an unknown age. We made him as comfortable as possible during his last hours with a soft blanket to lay on in a warm spot of the house and peace and quiet.
