Good to see your well buddy and the Koi are looking spot on no pun intended yes the kactoily kit not got any sort of support at all in my humble opinion thet have to much going on to many parameters and no reliability Blue Lab not got the WiFi model but never had an issue 5 years I think what's been going on with your ashp is when it's not in use the high winds have been winding the fan backwards and its throwing up codes make some louvres up that open when in use and close when idle thin this will solve your issues all the best martin best regards Tony 👍

I have the Kactoily 7 in 1 and have had a few issues. Contacted Kactoily and they do not want to honor their warranty at all. I’ve had to purchase a new unit.

You had me a bit worried there Martin, No update in 2 months ! A Quick google of Kactoily customer service shows a rating of Terrible. People have complained about unhelpful staff and the small fine print on their warranty that it does not cover damage.. Its up to them to decide if they will honour the warranty or not. Fish are looking good for being winter (Well at least your Koi are not battling 32 degree c water temps and being almost boiled I have actually had to put Ice bricks in the filter to try and get the temps down) Thanks for the update and letting us know that apart from being at work... your doing alright..

Nice to see you back, the blue labs lead are approx 1.5 m long, however the new ones look to have 2m, the the more important factor is the reliability, we’ve had ours over 3 years, and assuming you calibrate every month, buy bottles of calibrate solution it’s way more economical ,it’s been faultless, we to have had a kactoily, and I wouldn’t have another, like you wayward ph readings and temp showing 34 c, which it certainly wasn’t. Thank you , yeah some are coming along nicely, my little puddle is just under 2000g now I’ve changed the nexus for the drum , would love to have gone bigger but new build gardens just don’t allow it 👍👍

I have never heard that maples are poisonous.. I think too many leaves of any kind breaking down can be dangerous I thought I had my ponds cleaned but the Corkscrew willow is still dropping leaves.. That's really good growth on the ginrin Showa The 3rd Showa is spectacular.. awesome patterns I love that second Showa the iSA Showa 5lb raffle is a great deal on that 3 stepper I think you are getting great growth

Chers buddy , go be honest I’d never heard of it before but some old boy gardener said to me about it , doing my own research since , they are not poisonous per say, but extremely high in sugars that can make the fish poorly if they decide to nibble away at them , it’s weird over here native trees are still reasonably green I’ve still got flowers on clematis geraniums and fuchsias , in November!!!!!! If you maintain and clean the probes regularly they can last 3 years , hope that helps

If they are regularly maintained and cleaned kactoily say up to 3 years use from one set 👍

That was either the chunkiest Koi I have ever seen or a Rare Red, Black and White Whale! I am still going to call that trip a Volvo Vacation. You know I would rip out all the plants and expand the Koi pond... but I know your not allowed to lol! The Shower is looking good and the water is looking clean so great work ! Love the idea of the wifi pump being programmable but as you mentioned wifi signal can be unreliable at times and depending on your service provider. Unfortunately pumps like that are just not available yet in Canada. The grow your own bacteria kit is an interesting idea. Depending on cost and dependability could potentially save a lot of money over the brand name varieties. Fish are looking awesome. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Hell has everyone's pump decided to go ? I am down-under and also just had to replace a pump.. Mine was a little more.. disastrous.. the Impeller shaft snapped. Not sure how... but.. it was cut in twain .. So Ran on a solar pump just to keep the bacteria in the filter wet and then sourced another replacement. In saying that Martin, Fish are looking great, you seem to be doing great... and you have had blue skies so that is also great !

Mate , yeah it seems to be a trend at the moment with pumps failing , but what is made to last these days and nothing is repairable in the throw away culture , snapping a shaft is no easy feat though must of sucked something solid in to the impeller at some point , Cheers buddy yes a whole day of sunshine we were blessed 😂😂😂thanks mate take care

Oh no.. I had to order a new pump too. Been a weird summer here.. hot as all hell now.. mid 30s. Lots of rain though Your koi are looking huge with great colour. Lol... easy now.. don't mess with my showas.. ok pretty not smart lol I love your electrics.. Your plumbing is top notch On a personal note my son got back from his 6 plus month tour in Latvia

KOI swimming and behaviour is not bad. The challenge for the future is how to achieve the bulky body shape that we and some South East Asian hobbyists have achieved, while paying attention to the relationship between food protein content and water temperature. Ideally, the area of increased flesh should be aimed at the shoulders and back, not the chest or lower abdomen.

I know exactly what you are going through when you mentioned back pain. I've had a bad back for almost 4 weeks now and after having an x-ray and speaking to my doctor yesterday she advised me that I have compressed fracture of my T12 vertebrae, located just above where my spine joins my hips. I am scheduled for a CT scan next week to determine the severity of the fracture. Needless to say the word I use when it comes to my pain is "excruciating". I'm looking at likely a minimum of 3 months for healing to take place assuming I don't do anything to screw it up more. Hope you're feeling better soon. On a brighter note, the garden and koi are looking awesome.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Well look at you ! Martin that has been a big step up from fondling around with the phone to being able to rotate and spin us around without the phone camera being all choppy ! I know the planning committee has said no to the pond expansion.... but if it was me... I would rip the tree out and relocate the chinese pagoda and dig it all the way back to the Rock boundary near the building at the back.. Fish are looking well.. and apparently so are you ... Which is great to see !
